Still want a kickstarter on a bike I’m routinely in bfe with lol.

Hey what size is the fuel line on the X? I’ve got 1/4, 3/8, 5/16, nothing fits. Is it metric?
Mine measures 3/16" ID and 3/8" OD

Nah, any flat area would work. If you're deep in a field, it might be difficult without a hill because of the friction from the high plants. But you don't need very much momentum to bump start--just enough to kick the motor over a couple rotations when you pop the clutch.

Basically, you run next to the bike and then hop on it and pop the clutch. If you're short, that might be easier said than done on a tall dirt bike.

OR:

Keep a small battery back-up jump pack with you on long adventure runs. They're small and would easily jump start your bike. Better than a kick starter for sure.

Thinking this battery is a good choice.

I'm interested in what did you finally land on for Carb jetting. I've cracked the OEM carb as you first did on this forum.Thinking about adding a air screw from another post. My only complaint is setting a preferred lower idle.

Searching now near 90 pages of information I cant seem to easily find what I'm looking for.

Hey all - I have been fighting some problems with the new bike. Everything was working well after assembly, but then yesterday I noticed it had leaked a good amount of gas the weekend while it was parked. Did a little checking and couldn't easily see a source so I just decided to ride for a bit and then turn the gas off and let it run empty prior to parking it again.

This is when the second problem popped up. I had a really hard time getting it started. I live in AZ and the temp was 45ish, but it simply would not start. Fought with it for a good 10-15 minutes. Had to let it rest a couple times as the battery was starting to die, but finally got it running. It wouldn't idle and I had to keep the choke on more than normal. Finally got to the point where I could just ride and let warm up more. After about 5 minutes riding around the yard, it just died. I wanted to get it running again in order to shut the gas off and let it run empty, but it wouldn't start again, so I just parked it. Went out this afternoon and sure enough, there is another puddle of gas under it that leaked out.

I have read through this entire thread and have heard of all sorts of different things from adjusting valves, manifold gasket/RTV, and throttle cable management to rejetting and/or replacing carb.

I am not super mechanical, but I can tackle all of these if needed, but I was hoping for some guidance or perhaps an order on which to attempt first for most probable cause...

Any feedback would be great...
Well I got it running again today, but it's pretty rough. I sprayed some started fluid into the spark plug hole and it fired right up. Some sort of fuel issue so I checked the petcock valve and ensured fuel was getting past it from the tank. Started thinking about pulling the carb and going from there, but for some reason, I reconnected the fuel line to the petcock and tried to start it again and bam... Fired right up! Kept the choke on for a good 3-5 minutes, but it still wouldn't idle. Started playing with the idle screw and finally got it to not stall, but the idle is somewhere around 2000-2500 RPM. It also sounds like there is some sort of air leak or something as it sounds like some sort of air gasp every few seconds.

Not sure if I should try adjusting the valves or rejetting the carb as my next step. I haven't been able to find detailed walkthrough or video on adjusting the valves on this specific bike so I am a bit apprehensive. I also understand the carb rejetting requires grinding of the bolt heads in order to get into it. Also makes me nervous.

Any input on best bang for my buck here? What's easier and/or the most likely culprit? Or should I be checking something else entirely?

BTW, it's not leaking gas anymore either... At least it didn't all day after I got it running. I will check and verify tomorrow morning...

Thanks again for all the assistance!!!

I was thinking much the same thing-we need to parse this thread for concrete information: what parts work on the bike, how to open up the carb, jets to order, plastics and decals that fit, quirks and fixes etc. and edit the OP with links to said info.

Thats a great idea, there are already technical specs threads for the Hawk and Brozz, would be useful for the TempX

I try to place part numbers/pics and photos in my dedicated threads in the videos and pics section. Sometimes people start side tangents that clutter them. But I often refer to those threads with links in the main 1000+ thread (this one). For now, that is the best I can do. If you start yet another thread, people will post side tangents anyway, and it will get filled with clutter. It is just the nature of forums

True, but the very first post would be the collection of data/part #s/torque specs, etc that would be a running list.. that way the clutter would be subsequent posts but all the info needs to be maintained in the first post

ex: https://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=15942

It could also have links to our existing posts, like the ones I have concentrated in my dedicated threads in the video and pics section, and there are lots of them hidden in this main 1000+ thread. The search function just doesn't work. I get zero results often when I know that I am using the right search term and member name, like a specific tire name, or part. Even if you select what to search (titles or full threads, etc). I don't know why the search function fails so miserably. But that's why having dedicated threads helps.

For sure.. when all else fails I just do a Google search for what I'm after and append "chinariders.net" to the search like recently when I was searching for brake pads for the Brozz

FYI, that luggage rack is on a Templar motorcycle like ours (X model) that is sold on Alibaba. The luggage rack itself is currently NOT available separately on Alibaba.

We have asked PSM whether they would offer the racks, and they responded positively, maybe two months ago, but the rack has not showed up on their website.

If you want to buy that rack, join the few people that have contacted PSM and asked for a part number, and offered to buy the rack if it becomes available. Only persistent requests might get PSM to order some of them from Zumaav. But they are unlikely to order any if there is insufficient interest.

Did they give you a price for it?

Got my battery today.
Looked at it, thinking dang this is a lot smaller than I thought it would be…because it’s the 4XL (50 CCA) not the 5XL (80 CCA).
*sigh*
Double checked my order, it was for the 5XL so I got the one in a million wrong part from Amazon.
Y’all think 50 CCA is enough for this bike?

Amazons easy to return stuff. I think my wife returns half what she buys on there. Just go to orders and returns and follow the steps.
