Zongshen is definitely manufacturing a 450cc engine, which looks very similar to the NC250 engine in our RX3 motorcycles.

Here is a link which provides details for the NC450 (ZS194MQ) engine.

Interesting! Not as wide, but 4 cm taller than the NC250. Makes me wonder if a retrofit might be available for those that want the bigger engine? Eager to see what the power rating is on the 450.

Here's a chart.

Humm! The dimensions are very simmilar among the two engines; don't know about the effects on dynamics (balance, center of gravity, etc.) but seems wouldn't be difficult for Zonghsen to mod the RX3 and then fabricate a 450cc "RX4" .

That stinks. I wish it was a 400cc, due to ridiculous insurance costs in BC.

That's a beautifully flat torque curve, although I suspect the info is mixed up. IOW, the solid line is actually torque and the dotted line is hp.

hmmm that would be a very fun engine to try and shoehorn into my roketa supermoto.... 450 would be enough power to get me in a heap of trouble real quick from hooligan behavior...LOL

Sigh... if/when this becomes available for the RX-3, I might have to add another bike to the stable. I am guessing it's a couple of years out... just enough time for me to butter-up my wife and convince her of why I "need" another bike, and that another bike wouldn't take up too much space...

Turn the nut down to the ground and the bike is higher. Turn the nut up and the bike goes down.

All the springs may not be the same from the factory and each bike can be a little different. Each rider should move the spring for what works for them. I am 72" tall and 140 pounds (1.8meter, 63 kg). I ride most on pavement so I don't need much preload.

Test yours on different settings and write down change and effect. Same with the screw for rebound adjustment.

Weld, shoehorn the engine in the RX-3, point out to your agent it says ZS194MQ and explain that it's 200cc!

I sure could do that, but I work hard at taking the high road. I can't very well tell my kids to do the right thing and then do whatever pleases me.

Joe Berk's RX3 book 5000 Miles At 8000 RPM

Reading through Joe's new book on the RX3 and find it very informative. I was aware of some things mentioned in it as I've read lots of the forums peculiar to this bike , but this book actually gave me new info about how it came about, the behind the scene details that I found very interesting. Helped me to understand my bike and the importer CSC philosophy better . Joe has a great way of writing , keeping your interest and making you smile while reading because most of us have actually been there, done that, in the stories he mentions. I would definitely recommend the book to anyone considering buying the RX3 as a preview and way to get to know the bike before it arrives to you. Don't know of any other current motorcycle importers or dealers who provide an exhaustive free maintenance DVD manual and now make available a book on the behind the scenes workings from start to finish of getting a neat bike into the US market and the lengths they go to keep customers happy by encouraging riding their RX3's. Great Read . rj
