What are you trying to prove? You don't even own both of the carbs in question. I think it best if we both dropped the whole thing.

True, but I have owned and tuned Amal, Bing, Delorto, Mikuni, Villiers and Keihan carburetors for over 60 years.

Either way, the jets are the same, you change them the same way, and the mixture screw is on the outside
Same here. I went back and checked the stock jet and the mikuni and have the same threads.

I cut the slots with a fine tooth hack saw. It was a whole lot safer than the dremel.

The Keihin has 0.8 mm threads. The Mikuni has 0.75 mm threads. That's close but not identical. The Mikuni jets will thread into the Keihin carburetor ok, but the Keihin jets will screw up the threads in the Mikuni carb.

Where did you get this information, I would like to read it. everything I have found said the head of the keihin jets are a mm bigger also, these are not. maybe its a china thing and not real brand copy jets. wish I had a metric thread pitch tool....

I got this information from Human Being's post # 13 on the "Bashan Blaze can't get past 7000 RPM" thread. Human Being seems to be able to read Chinese. He often posts on electrical problems.

I believe he is mistaken.....
from jets are us
OVERALL LENGTH = 9mm
HEAD DIAMETER = 8mm
THREAD DIAMETER = 4.9mm
THREAD PITCH = 5.0 x 0.7
MIKUNI N100.604

and no KEIHIN is the same physical size, so mikuni knock off main jets may be in these stock carbs

My only point was that those Mikuni jets will fit in the stock Hawk carb but not in the Mikuni VM26. I know it because I tried to use them in the Mikuni and they wound not thread in. That is all I have say in the great main jet debate.
