Hawk Street Fighter Project

All,

I am putting together a hawk streetfighter blacked out configuration. Here it is so far. I need to pull the forks and paint them and take some of the gloss off the engine and frame(probably this winter). I am also looking into getting a dual headlight setup and black out the tail and signal lenses. Anyone else ever try this? I just like the looks of a blacked out bike.

Your photos are not visible, unfortunately. A new member just had the same issue a week or so ago, and someone mentioned that new members cannot post photos, and then, the photos became visible (moderator set it to visible?). Anxiously await your project's photos...

I'm hardy new. I have been a member since may. Oh well. Hopefully they wil magically appear at some point.

I used spray tint on my black CBR1100XX for the tail & turns and it worked pretty well. It does fade with time in the sun/heat if the bike is outdoors and exposed, but it's easy to re-do when it's time. Follow the instructions. First time around I rushed it and it didn't look good at all; light coats.

Flat black spray works great on the lights as well. Just keep dusting them with paint until you achieve the darkness you want. They key is to dust the lights, not actually spray them.

I am actually tossing around the idea of making a custom fairing. I have access to a large 3d printer so i may create something unique.

I had actually thought about that and wondered if anyone had tried it. It would certainly be worth a shot. All else fails and you can take it off i suppose. Great idea.
