Arizona riders?

I have been seeing more and more of us AZ riders here. I think we should shoot for the fall and have a ride somewhere (yes, everyone is welcome) when I should have something to ride. I can wholesale a Hi-Bird 250 for a low price, but I still have terrible flashbacks of my (constantly broken down) Jetmoto and 100+ temps (near 45 Celcius for you Canadians :wink: ). So I am hoping to fandangle a Qlink XF200 by then, and we should figure out a place to go. Arizonans, identify yourselves! (city/area)

Which Cottonwood, LOL. When I first moved to AZ in '02, we moved to a tiny town in the middle of the Navajo Nation. About 20 miles away, there was an even smaller town (community) called Cottonwood. We would hear ads on the radio for Wal-Mart, and the casinos in Cottonwood, and other things, and wondered where they hid all the fun, as the Cottonwood we drove through on the way to Chinle had only homes and a school.

I assume that you live in the Cottonwood north of Phoenix, and south of Flagstaff?

AZ200--you could have had that low priced DR (did you post the Craigslist link?).

I have a 1980 Cadillac in the Phoenix Craigslist for $750. I am hoping to put the $$ into a new bike--either a Qlink or Hi-Bird, or both, I figure when one finances, with little down, the cash will still be there to purchase a lower cost bike, too.

I would like to ride up where you live, or even on the Navajo Nation where I used to live. Lots of dirt roads for miles and miles--the back roads to all the tourist spots like Canyon de Chelly, or Monument Valley. Would be good for a quad tour, too, on the "Rez."

If you come up this way you'll hear radio ads for Wal-Mart and the Casino. The Casino is in Camp Verde, Wal-Mart in Cottonwood. Lots of dirt (or shall I say rock) back roads to be explored here. Yes, I'm in between PHX and Flag about 15 miles or so from Sedona.

My wife and I would get together for a ride, but not in the Verde Valley during summer. For that we can just go to Culcune, place his caddy in the alley, and ride over it. To hot for me over there.

We should do a summer ride, but lets do it above 5000'. Lots of area by Lake Mary. That puts AZ200CC 2 hours away, My wife and I 1.5 hours away, Dscratch 1.25 hours away, and anyone from PHX 1.5 to 2 hours away.

Culcune, you are out of luck.. If we plan it right, you can crash on the floor of our motorhome. You dont mind snuggling a Siberian Husky do you??

Whats it going to take to put a date and place down on paper??

No she is a great dog, no fleas or bad attitude.

I woud like to arrange a ride, so I think I am going to get a collection of who is in AZ, and shoot out PM's. Culcune, who else do you know of that I may have missed? Thinking the week before or after Memorial Day, Coconino NF. I have a buddy who is a supe for the Coconino NF and will talk with him concerning it. Pretty sure if we keep it below 75-100 people we shouldnt need a permit, but will verify it.

I'd be up for the ride, but would need to ask my boss if I can borrow his van and trailer to haul my bike. I think it would be hard to fit it in the trunk of my car. Also, I cannot ride any advanced trails at this stage, but would do just fine on standard trails.
