Hey Katflap, sorry to hear about the tip over on such a new bike; I've been there it sucks. I've actually droped and crashed every motorcycle I've ever owned and I don't expect it to be any diffrent with this one. So how did it hold up to the little tip over? Any damage? How did all the crash protection fair?

Should there be another unfortunate drop in the future, I recommend that you consider this lifting procedure:

Stand facing away from the seat, with your heels against it. Crouch down, find a place to grab with both hands and lift with your legs. If the bike fell on the right side, pop the kickstand down first, so the bike has something to land on.

If the bike fell on the left side, be careful to not push it over.

Spud, there was advanced orders the 1st 50 off RX3.
These were then available from Motorstar Branch on 10th Ave in Manila, I believe.

I was working in China (Changsha, Hunan), so I could not place an order. No deliveries to Cebu by Motorstar (which is where I live and here currently for Spring Festival break)

Motostar offered a good deal. Will the price rise for future orders? Do you plan to remain in Cebu? If so, do you plan to order an RX3?

Katflap pointed out that in the UK, the RX-3 is equipped with a spring loaded sidestand, since it does not have a sidestand kill switch.

Does anyone know what CSC's bikes will be equipped with? I think the US also requires some kind of system to prevent riding off with sidestand down.

My Honda XR650L has a safety switch on the side stand, but my Zongshen ZS200GY-2 does not. I can't recall seeing a safety switch on the side stand in any photographs of the Zongshen RX3.



I don't believe this safety switch is mandatory in the United States. I have read this switch is mandatory in Canada, but I haven't verified that information.

I've never heard of a mandatory kickstand safety switch in Canada. Doesn't mean it isn't so, but it would be news to me.

Rear axle21mm both sides, alignment adjusters 13mm
Front axle 19mm one side. The other side, protruding round shaft with aprox 8mm hole through the diameter held tight by 2 x 10mm fork pinch bolts.

My bike came without the cush hub which would have been a nice addition .That said I’m not finding it uncomfortably snatchy

The rear sprocket seems to match the JTR 897 – 44 but no good for the cush hub version but this link shows that it’s still using a 44 tooth sprocket

The front sprocket has 14 teeth with a flange on the inner side. It is secured to the shaft with a bolt and lock washer. The outer side has a hole to one side of the bolt where a small tongue from the lock washer fits in to. The lock washer has a tab that is bent up against one of the bolts flat edges to hold it in place. Im sure you know the sort of thing it is.
Sorry I can’t give you shaft and spline details at the moment but I want to make sure I can get a replacement lock washer before I start taking it a part.
I will re check the teeth number and get back to you because this link shows the front sprocket having 13 teeth.

Thanks for the morale booster; I will try not to make dropping the bike a regular thing.
The bike had a soft landing because I was pretty much underneath it!
But the screen broke when it hit my rubbish wheelie bin. It’s now back on the bike but looks bloody awful where I have glued it back together. A new one is on order!

I will definitely take your advice on lifting the bike in the future. I’ve already got a dodgey back and shoulder from years of bad lifting!

A little bit of info.

Top box & large pannier inside measurements w = 38cm, L = 28cm, Depth including lid recess 19cm
Smaller pannier is the same but the depth is reduced to 8cm * for a good 50% of it.
(* I think 8cm is correct struggling to read my own hand writing)

Oil filter
100mm long (metal to metal) with a diameter of 30mm
One end at the centre seems to have a ball bearing and spring style pressure relief valve.
The other end has a glued rubber washer diameter of 25mm, thickness 2mm and hole in the centre of 8 or 9 mm.

Thanks for checking, and posting the information. If you counted 14 teeth, I'm sure you are correct. It's nice to know a 13T, counter shaft sprocket is available on Taobao. I'm sure I will want to gear down the sprocket ratio to accommodate the 17-inch rear wheel on the CSC version of the RX3.
