I tried the heat gun but it didn’t work. It’s a thick molded part and virtually impossible to flatten.

Where is that part number from ? Is that the flat Hawk part and if so, where do I order it ?

No that's the CSC part number.

My fin has a gentle curve toward the sprocket then curves bact to vertical after flipped. Mine has a lot more clearance then yours does, about 3/4". I think yours was over bent from the factory or possibly missing the second bend. Either way the part is virtually useless so put it back the other way, bend it or remove it all together. Your bike will work perfectly fine without it.

It's a new bike, correct? Just call them or email them with a pic and they'll send him a new one for free. I've never had an issue with any CSC warranty.

Yeah, just call CSC and work with them directly. They aren't like most other importers, and will actually work to resolve the issue and get you parts sent out if needed. That is part of what you get by paying $1000 more over a Hawk or Bashan.

As I mentioned before, CSC claims all their bikes and all their parts in inventory are curved and they stand by their claim that the forward position is correct. Their service is excellent, we just don’t seem to agree on this issue and even if we did, they can’t offer a replacement part that’s flat.

I think a better question to ask is, are the tabs on the swing arm straight? I recall a Hawk owner having his arrive with the lower guard actually touching his chain, and it turned out to be the two mount tabs on the swing arm were bent during shipping. Both bikes literally use the same rear arm and lower guard, so the same possible damage and correction can apply.

Mine is the same way when I flipped it around, it is just the way the top of the plastic piece is designed that as you tighten the bolts down it bends in towards the chain.

Dont worry about it mine sits just as close, and I have not had a problem even doing hard trails. the chain will not move sideways off the rear sprocket unless it jumps off completely
