Wonder where that design came from.....
Honda's XRE300 uses the DOHC , 6 speed , 26HP , injected CBR300 motor...
was first seen as the XRE250 out of the Honda Brazil plant...

It has not been updated since April:

https://www.epa.gov/compliance-and-f...es-and-engines

This company does not look familiar, either. Sorry, does not look like we will get this beast anytime soon.

The 'ray of hope' is that one can put up the EPA testing money and become an importer, but one would also hope the engine can pass EPA in the first place. I guess the loophole that RPS uses for the Hawk would be a cheaper route, and less strenuous, but the bikes are also hit or miss when it comes to street registration depending on state or even county (i.e. Georgia).

It is a bit underpowered for its displacement in the horsepower department at 24hp but almost 23lb-ft of torque at 4500rpm, that thing could freight train up a hill at idle. That motor only has 8.8:1 compression, so it is likely designed and tuned for utility duty and a long life in a different type of vehicle, like a buggy or Trike truck. It will still do highway speed, and won't struggle as much if it gets loaded down. Look at the Suzuki S40 engine, 650cc single with 31hp as a good comparison. Not fast, but still a great bike.

Personally, I would love to be able to purchase a shineray xy250gy-2, but it seems on Australia gets those guys.

If you look at the 2017 EPA list of 'highway' motorcycles under the manufacturer 'SRM' on the EPA list, the 400cc Shineray is actually certified for the US! Genuine Scooters plan to bring in a retro-looking 400 (like the Yamaha SR400), and since the engine is near-identical to the enduro, they both fall under the same EPA certificate. However, it would take someone...anyone, to call up Shineray and order a container or two of the Shineray enduros! Anyone? Someone??

That's the one I have, it's been a good bike so far, you can get it new for $1800, a guy made a trip from Costa Rica down to Bolivia on that bike, 18000 kilometers, mine has 17000km on the clock already.

http://www.repuestosgigante.com/producto/xlf-250/

I wonder which engine is the base for the 400cc
