p.s. I am not fully trusting the speed claimed by the 45t sprocket video -- It's a new iPhone7+ and a new gps app -- it looked slow to me compared to my 'seat of the pants' view of the road... I'd love to know if others agree that it looks wrong to them too.

If you do mostly flat, open road, the 45t may serve you better. Keep in mind that there's very few open, flat straights where we live. Lots of canyon and twisties.

I'm really curious what rpm the engine is turning at those speeds with a 49T final. On my TT250 with the 50T at 60mph I was at 8000rpm. I'm running the 43 right now and have hit 70 on occasion at 8000rpm. if the internal gears are the same that would mean you are pulling to ~8900rpm

All good inputs. No idea on the rpm, as my bike doesn't have a tach. Your calcs are as good an indication as any.

I like what Dave posted about the 47. When we get back from the TT250 Mexico run, we'll try that one, too. We're leaving tomorrow morning. I'm taking my mascot with me...
