Cgr250

Here is a pic of my Tauro Turbo CGR250. Brought back from Dominican Republic and registered it here in Florida.

The registration process took a little trickery to get done. The VIN that is etched into the neck of the frame doesn’t decode. I was faced with either registering it as a kit or foreign import, and both methods required some seriously time consuming hoop jumping. I found a haul away CB250 nighthawk locally and cut the neck off and disposed of the rest.

Due to weight restrictions I couldn’t bring every piece with me, si I had to piece it back together with some parts I had here in Tampa.

You're saying you welded that steering neck on?

Took it for a 300 mile trip today and had a great ride. Changed the oil today and checked all the nuts and bolts to ensure they remained torqued down correctly.

looking good and the story behind it is interesting too! Can you post some project pics of doing the neck? I love seeing how ppl fix their issues. Thanks

It’s not as intense as it sounds. A little drilling and riveting is all that’s required.

I think what he is saying that he took an ID plate from a Honda CB250 and pop riveted on his bike so that could register it.

Is there a way to determine who manufactured the engine?
