New sport bike from Lifan.

Looking on Brian's website I notice he has posted a new bike coming from American Lifan. I like the new pictures on the site.

http://www.motoxtreme.net/994.html

Any more details on engine size?

Allen

I've been wondring about it as well. Hopefully they used the new 300cc atv engine. I would have bought the streetbike had it been larger than a 200...

The picture that Brian has on his web site was prior to the Dealer Expo in February. The pic is a Demo mock-up of the bike, there is a better pic in the gallery here under Dealer Expo 2007.

Hav you guys seen the new one from Roketa?? It's skanky looking to me, I think the designers must have had the plauge or something.... but it's a 250, which is a step in the right direction.

The last I heard, Anothhhheeerrrr 200cc Over Head Cam Engine, like the first sport bike. I, myself told them they where Nuts!! They said it had to do with getting another engine EPA approved to come into the USA. We will see though, if we dealers did enough complaining about all of the 200's maybe someone listened. Don't know yet???????????

I think they would double the sales with aoout a 400cc engine. I don't think I will ever buy another streetbike again, but there would be alot more buyers for a slightly larger bike.

We need more power.
Not really, but it would be nice.

Do the dealers also tell the companies about certain flaws and defects? And they really need to get into larger cc's or people will give up waiting.

Yes we do tell the manufacturers about defects.....some listen some don't. American Lifan does listen. You also need to understand that we are dealing with China... They don't use much bigger bikes than 200cc and most of what they use are 50cc.

It is also expensive to get an engine family {engine family has to do with serial number & cc's} to pass USA, EPA emissions. It costs $25,000.00 for an engine family to be inspected by the EPA and get the certificate to be allowed in the USA after is passes EPA emissions.

I just noticed this thread. As Bruce has stated, this is another 200cc bike. The picture on the site has got to go. I'll post a new picture as soon as I get a bike in stock.

200cc is a great size to offer but a larger cc option would be nice as well.

Brian, there will be a crowd waiting for a larger bike. I am one of them. If you have seen the post in the DS forum about the 250cc XR copy that is what we want.

I'll admit, Thats a very sharp looking bike. American Lifan is working on a larger dual purpose bike.

Maybe American Lifan will offer this one?

Bruce may have more infomation, I don't have many details at to the larger cc's from American Lifan. Not too sure anyone does. Guess we'll see.
