Roketa got into HUGE trouble years ago; they used to be an actual brand. Their bikes (enduros) were manufactured by Shineray. The head guy didn't want to pay Shineray's wholesale price, so he found a hole in the wall place to manufacture them using numerically continuing serial numbers. This was a big no-no according to EPA and CARB since the bikes were effectively 'phantom' bikes. The head guy went to prison in California.
Since then, he has pushed the boundaries (in my opinion) of branding bikes as his own. It would seem that there would have been some kind of probation violation in there just by his insinuating a bike is a 'Roketa' but then again, since EPA and CARB is probably 10 times more difficult nowadays than 2005, 2006, it would be very difficult to bring in phantom bikes, not to mention on China's side (I imagine all those hole-in-the-wall manufacturers have gone away). So, yes, if you go on Roketa's site, http://www.roketa.com/product/product_list.jsp?cateID=7 you will see several 'usual suspects' branded all as 'Roketa' including the 'Hawk 2'. Only thing is; Roketa don't use names, so this sounds like a dealer 'borrowing' a name to combine with Roketa's bike. If it looks like a Hawk, sounds like a Hawk, and rides like a Hawk--it's still a Bashan called the DB-41H-250?!

I was under the impression that the names were added buy the dealers / buyers, so they buy bulk bikes and slap decal kits in the box.

I've read over the links, maybe I missed it. Do you have some info on the CARB certification?

Hmmmm. Interesting. We'll see what comes of this. I'll have to watch their website to see if anything gets updated, and other websites that sell this bike. We here in CA are always chompin' at the bit for something that can be sold and registered here....and it doesn't happen often. Thanks for the gleaning! ;-)

TOMORROW'S PRICE: $1,589.95 APRIL 6th 8 HR. SALE: $1,364.95 You save $525.00! 8hrs/day, every day lol Encouraging that there's at least one new option for an Enforcer, though. Now to search here for people who've purchased from saferwholesale... Sounds too much like, totallynotascam.com, to me. EDIT: Researched, will avoid like the plague. http://www.chinariders.net/showthrea...ale.com&page=4
