Recommendations Before Installing Rear Wheel On Hawk 250
Hi folks, I am a new Hawk 250 owner and have removed the rear wheel from the bike in order to replace the stock inner tube with a higher quality tube and also to replace the stock tire for a recommended after-market tire. I am also installing a 40T rear sprocket and replacing the stock chain for a high quality chain.
I hear it is wise to inspect the wheel bearings while the wheel is off the bike. I was wondering if there were any other things to check for or inspect while the wheel is off the bike. Also, does anyone know the recommended torque specs for the rear axle? In addition I bought some good quality grease which I will apply to the axle and bearings and was wondering what else I should do/check for while the rear tire is off the bike. Thanks. |

Sight the chain from rear sprocket to front make sure it's straight.

You can find the torque specs in the booklet that came with your bike. Just adjusted my chain yesterday and it’s listed at 65 ft/lbs.
