"Birthed"?

Intentional or not, that's one seriously funny typo.

Actually, I was asking for a low income student, but she found a great deal on a low mile, '05 TW with maintenance receipts, rack, and big top case.

Hey Joe, this may have already been covered, and if so I apologize for the redundancy...but have you received the parts, and accessories container yet? Sense we know when it arrived... I know it's not an accurate gauge of time, but might give us a general idea as to how far out the bikes are from you.

Access To Air Filter

** FOR THE EARLY RX3 WITHOUT THE SPLIT PLASTIC PANEL**

Remove the 2 side bolts ( green arrows)
without having to remove top box it is possible to loosen the bolt shown (red arrow).

This allows enough "wiggle room" to remove the orange plastic side panel.

************************************************** ************************
Unfortunately there is a metal tab (yellow arrow) welded to the frame that blocks the path for the air filters removal. This tab seems to serve no purpose so I removed it , hopefully I won't regret doing this at a later date .

Undo the screws and the air filter carrier slides out .The air filter consists of 2 different grades of foam and a wire mesh . The wire mesh I think is attached to the air filter carrier.

Some random photos

Voltage regulator/rectifier

We received the parts and accessories container last week.

That tab obstructing the air filter is no longer present on the production bikes. We think it was there to secure a harness, but it is not necessary.

Thanks, I'm glad to hear that the tab isn't important

That exact same type of tab is on my bike for electronic modules to attach. For instance my cdi box has a rubber boot around it that slips over that tab. Same for my turn signal flasher box.

As always, thanks for posting the nice photos and good information, Katflap.

If you order the split plastic cover from Taobao you won't need to mess around with those bolts.

You couldn't service the air filter with that tab in place, so you definitely needed to remove it.

Anyone mind if I join the celebrations?

Greetings from New Zealand. This was me (blue) on Friday - I'll let the photos do the talking
