New Mexico Trails (Motorcycle only)
I found a link to some marked motorcycle trails here in Albuquerque, NM.
If you go to the link I provided, it's on the second page down. http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_...rdb5336239.pdf Look at the area NW to the "Closed to Public Entry". All those dotted trails are for motorcycles only ...not even ATV's are allowed, strictly bikes only. They even have the fence set where you can only get a bike through, ATV's won't fit. Don't go over into the "Closed Area". Feds will be on you like white on rice. It is almost as secure as Area 51, as the area, I've been told, houses nuclear materials and or nuclear waste. I've heard, just step over the boundary and they're on ya!! |

We have the Hanford Area here.
This is where The Bomb's material was invented and created. It was also the site for Bomb material production throughout the Cold War. It's about 586 square miles of what would be awesome desert for hunting, camping, and riding. It's on a pristine section of the Columbia River. 99% of it is undeveloped. The remaining 1% is closely guarded nuclear government stuff. Pity too because the desert is awesome there. Plus it would be a good close place to play. From what I've heard its a federal case, literally for going there. I would never ride on a beautiful desert mountain area miles and miles from any development where there are no roads, surveilence, or structures or people. :wink:

Once the bike gets legal, I plan on taking it up to the Jemez Mountain area. There are some natural hot springs I visited back when I first got here. The road is about 5 - 8 miles long (old logging road, undeveloped) and full of bumps and rocks ...if you're in a vehicle. A bike would have no problems and be smoother. I took my (other) car in there the 1st year I was here and the alignment was all out of whack afterwards. Cost me a set of tires and a new align. So this time I'll just park the car and ride the bike there. |

You wouldn't believe some of the logging roads I've pounded a minivan on, all so I could trailer dirt bikes.
 Looking forward to pics of the natural hot springs.I don't know what your screen name represents, but when I see it, all I can think is BBQ.

I use to take my 86 escort way back in the woods on atv trails in central Minnesota. Just waited until it was dry.
