Can anyone identify this model?

Hi I'm looking at buying this bike, I'm in Aus and the buyer has it listed as a 250cc Zongshen - can anyone confirm what I'm looking at, just wanna know if parts are actually available

It looks like a copy of a Yamaha XT250

We don't/didn't have that model in the US, unfortunately. The problem with these bikes is that several different companies are 'manufacturers' with the same looking bike!? My guess is that they buy the parts as so-called knock-down kits and assemble them, get them certified, and are now a manufacturer. At least the engines are often sourced from Zongshen, as is probably the case here. You could try PM'ing 'Englishman in China' as he is living in China and publishes a magazine about the motorcycle industry, as well as is associated with a manufacturer. He is not too active here, but does pop up once a month to post the electronic issue of his magazine.

Thanks for pointing me on the right track, any idea what sort of keywords I can use to find parts for it? The owner mentions something wrong with electric start - can kickstart for now but would be nice to fix it and have the option

What's the problem exactly...
The problem(s) from outside (Wiring / Weak battery/ bad solenoid ...) http://www.chinariders.net/showpost....7&postcount=59 are easy fix. Internal ??? needs right tool & skill *** d/l a CRF230 shop manual & read tips from b44's post...***
Worst case we had http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=14466 as backup http://cqgty.taobao.com/category-646423428.htm lists engine parts for typical 5-speed 65.5*66.2 (223) OHC

I ended up buying it, sounds like the starter is broken - it spins but makes a grinding noise. Any idea where I'd get a replacement for this model, or can I repair it?

Motor just a generic 11T... There's carbon brush rebuild kit if others in usable condition ... It spins ie. Maybe 100% OK. That 1-way thingy https://www.bike-parts-honda.com/pie...0-CRF+230.html beind the rotor is main suspect

Those gears https://www.bike-parts-honda.com/pie...0-CRF+230.html may also worn...
ALL the parts aboves can find via #5 's url if local / fleabay / aliexpress are too expensive...
