I'll have my KPX one year at the end of this month and I currently have 8500 miles on the odometer and my goal is to have 9000 miles on the bike at the end of the first year. If the EFI and electronics were going to be an issue, I would probably have had problems by now.

Other than price, I think the Templar X would be the better choice if you are going to primarily ride trails. The bike is taller, has the adjustable suspension and knobby tires. I ride predominately on pavement, gravel, and forest service roads and wanted a bike I could do long trips on and that required less maintenance. The KPX has accomplished that so far.
