Doh! TBR7 Venting Oil from Crankcase after oil change

I am the second owner of a 19 TBR7. I have modified the bike with aftermarket carb, removed the air box and added cone foam filter, after market exhaust,
Sprocket change and new chain. After I removed the air box, I added the crankcase vent with a pcv valve and crankcase filter on the end routed to the top of the underside of the seat on the exhaust side.

I finally changed the oil to the recommended Rotella 15w-40 at 1,600 miles. Previous owner did change out the shipping oil for 10w-30 when new. I bought the bike with 300 miles on it.

I measured and added 1.1L and final oil level after the engine was started was just below the high level mark on the dipstick.

My issue is that it's venting a lot of oil and I believe the cause to be the change in oil viscosity and that I added too much oil since it was just before the high mark.

Has anybody else experienced this with their bike when using Rotella?
Would it be better to just route this over the chain with a solid elbow to lubricate the chain instead of using a filter at the end?
