Rubber boot between carb and airbox

Either I misplaced or it wasn't there... Any idea where to get the rubber boot between the carb and the airbox? I have a Sunray 200GY, but it is a VM26 carb. I might just try a scrap piece of radiator hose if I can find one.

Anyone here just use a Uni oiled foam air filter instead?

I won't be much help with the intake side of things, but the uni filter thing is very common among us Hawk modders.

As far as the rad hose idea, also look at silicone hose. Around 1 3/4 inch should be close. The vm26 inlet is 43mm diameter iirc and 1 3/4 inches is 44.45mm. From there you might be able to silicone a small bit of pipe in place on the airbox to clamp it to.

Megadan! Dunno why, but I think it is better to have the oiled foam instead of the the mesh cone style. I am guessing I will have to rejet it too (more air, too lean...) Do you need to oil the mesh ones that come with most replacement carbs?

I think most of them are not oiled and are just replaced when they get dirty. Unless they state they are washable, which generally means they are a cotton filter element, they are made of paper trapped between the mesh.

That is one big reason the foam filters are more popular. They are washable and reuseable. With the dual foam design you also get a small added layer of protection since you don't oil the outer foam layer and just the inner. It helps keep larger debris from sticking.
