This is personal opinion only...(and we all know what those are like) but the only thing I don't like about the o-ring type chains that that they will let in tiny bits between the rubber ring and the chain plate, and the o-rings will eventually break down and leave gaps. If you change a chain "as we should", that's not really an issue though.

Like I stated earlier, the only o-ring chain I've run was when I knew that chain lube would not be in the equation. The O-rings would still allow the chain to move freely. The shiny chain, sprockets and rear rim made for a much sharper looking rear end on the show bike....without all the hassle of constantly wiping. It was a very nice application.
Normal sand is no issue but this super fine sand we have in the spillway just gets in ever thing. On my Honda 200x I was eating up chains like crazy but once I put the o ring chain I had no more problems. It's either get an o ring chain or stay out of the spillway. Yeah right! like I'm not going back there lol. I may just try the non o ring but just dip it in paraffin wax before I go there. That might keep the crud out.

Yeah, I was thinking of remarking on parrifin wax treatment of conventional chain, but figured it would be a waste of time. I reccomend UniBear chain because it is not only very high quality, but is a real good bang for the buck. $16.00 is a deal for the difference between what came on the bike and Uni-Bear chain and is, to me, a bargain. On hawk Talk I wrote a whole ariticle on how to wax treat a chain. Sincerely, ARH

I think I said some thing similar because it really does ship from China. The reason I looked for and bought that exhaust is because it is aluminum and will bend if you need it to. The other exhaust systems that people posted were stainless steel. They wouldn't bend or save as much weight.

Here's a pic of the box and the chain. This is the 530 "gold" chain (not sure why) for my Rhino. Note the "solid rollers and bushes" emboldened on the box.
Some chains have been made of rolled steel sheet, and sheet bronze to make bushings. This is faster (and cheaper) than buying drawn steel for the rollers, and the same for drawn bronze tubing for the bushings. There are many ways to make a chain cheaper than someone else does. This the famous "Just as good as" sales pitch that has been around for most of our lives. Luckily I bought into that fairy tale only once. Sincerly, ARH

In case anyone was wondering the factory chain length for a Brozz with a 17 tooth front and 46 rear is 128 links. New chain on the way.

This thread is choke FULL of great info! The only downside, is the shopping list keeps getting longer and longer.....

One question: how much does a smaller rear sprocket change the length of the chain? My CB purchase will be used as a commuter 95% of the time, with very little need for a steep 1st gear.

I don't know the exact science to links vs a tooth. When you buy the smaller sprocket just buy a factory length chain, install the new cog, push the rear tire toward the front of its adjustment and bring the chain together to figure out how many links you need to take out. Order a chain breaker along with the sprocket and chain. But I wouldn't put 500 miles on the factory sprockets then put a new chain on them. Chains and sprockets wear together. I'm going to put a new chain on the factory Brozz Sprockets but they only have 80ish miles on them so I think its ok. I'm sure there may be a better way than the way I do it. And others may chime in.

I was just thinking in terms of purchasing a new chain to install at initial setup, and putting the factory chain in the scrap bin where it belongs without even using it LOL
