Silicone lube ?

I got my Silicone lube spray. Read to basiclly to drench from front to rear with WD 40. I am slowly starting with my air box Question : Is there places where Silicone should not be used ? brake rotors / pads, seat, grips. thanks TT 250

Which is it, WD-40 or silicone? You already listed the basics, add tires.

I wouldn't spray it on the seat, grips, levers, foot pegs, brakes, etc. Is there a reason you want to drench anything with silicone spray or WD40?

Over the years I've found WD40 basically good only for helping dry moisture out of wet ignition parts and absolutely nothing else.
I like the "watery" kind of silicone spray for some things and the "greasy" silicone spray for others but in no case would I ever just spray either all over any of my bikes. What would be the purpose?

You are 100% right Gypsy. WD-40 is NOT a lubricant, it is for water displacement. It is probably the #1 misused product.

For instance. when a key doesn't work properly in a lock, people go crazy with WD40 and destroy the lock, when it really needs a sprits of DRY graphite powder. The lock comes back to life, and the key slides in and out like, well, never mind

WD40 also works great as a solvent. Cleans chains and other greasy grimy stuff really well.

WD40 is also good at removing tar and bugs from vehicles. I use it to clean my bicycle chains.
