one more thing..
If anyone is having problems starting with the start button, apparently it may also be a faulty clutch switch. I disconnected mine and jumped the female connectors in the wiring bundle behind the headlight. This also gave me a free hand when testing the circuits with the multimeter.

You are going to have to REALLY beef up that battery box to get that boat battery to stay on there

Maybe a few tie wraps...

Update:

after a few apparent shipping errors ( distibutor states they shipped the new battery twice but they never arrived and could not produce a WayBill # for either shipment)
the Dealer decided to go buy me a new Battery and a new turn signal himself and ship it to me. he through in the turnsignal for my troubles and I upgraded to a much better battery than the what distributor's replacement would've been.

anyways dec 23rd and the pachage arrived just a couple days after he shipped it and I spent xmas day putting the bike back together ( good reason to get out of the living room and all the crayziness) Bike runs great now and I took the boys out for a couple rides over the xmas holidays. I think the cold weather may have an effect as the bike seems to vibrate more now than when it was warmer out.
