that is REALLY interesting! the DMV Officer here in Iredell County contacted Raleigh when he came out to inspect my bike. he said Raleigh told him it can't be titled.

Did your MCO state dirt bike or motorcycle? Don at APSC said that the Hawks had a partial MCO for custom purposes only and that it was listed as dirt bike on it. He said they sent the MCO that listed it as a motorcycle. The person I spoke with in Raleigh said it wouldn't be a problem. I've ordered them so I'll find out as soon as everything gets here and I get my paperwork in from APSC.

my original one was dirt bike, but I got it re-issued as motorcycle. I did NOT try that again with the DMV because they told me it would not matter as the VIN itself was what was the key. Let me know how you make out with it though!

Well I just got back from the DMV with tags for both Hawks. Don at APSC was great to work with and, along with Craig in parts, really took care of any issues I had. Paperwork was sent quick and complete. On thing that was a HUGE help was the pic that Eldric1 posted of his title. The DMV person got hung up on the Make code and using his title as reference I told here to use CHQU which is Chongquing Haosen Motorcycle Co. LTD (the manufacturer of the Hawk) and everything else went off without a hitch. I also had already went by my insurance company and had proof of insurance with me. Here is a pic of both Hawks tagged here in NC!!!

August 18-21 I have a rally going on for Concours riders in Independence VA. We're staying at the New River Campground. I'll take the 250 with me.

I have no idea of roads in that area, but it's easy to get lost!

September 8-11 I'm going down to Suches GA to the Two Wheels of Suches campground.

Neither of those dates work for me but I know some good roads around the Independence area for street bikes. I'm new to dual sport riding so I'm still exploring. I sold my ZRX1100 to get these bikes for the family and riding that for the last 12 years I've always looked over the roads for the dual sports. Give me a bit and I'll find some.
