Still Too Expensive

I’m purchasing a 2019 Kawasaki Z400 motorcycle for $4,799 plus tax and registration, and also receiving a $300 military veterans reward discount.
I believe the Z will out perform the RX4 and it weighs less also. Plus you receive a longer and more beneficial warranty. (It doesn’t come with luggage & mounts)
CSC May have to reduce the RX4 selling price further to be competitive!
Good Luck
1CW
(Also the Chinese Govt. may add additional tariffs?)

The Z400 definitely throws a wrench in the Chinese bike market. It's a damn good bike and engine in the sub 5k price range. Not quite an apples to apples comparison being a sport naked vs an ADV bike (your weight comparison), but if you wanted something for road duty... No contest.

What I am interested in seeing is if Kawasaki releases the rumored Versys-X 400, and what the MSRP on that would be. I can't imagine it being much higher than $6000. That would not be a hard choice to make for most people. The RX4 would have to go sub $5k to even be a slight consideration.

Over priced silly plastic poverty pack luggage.
The RX4 should just be with Tourfella bags of the boat like we get here in China since 2014

I agree about the performance of the Z400, but a lot of people want to ride thumpers (singles).

I'm glad CSC did this. It gives people more option on luggage and still allows a basically stripped bike for folks like me who don't need a bunch of bulky, clumsy luggage but like the stability and more forgiving suspension of an ADV bike for our lousy roads.

One trunk for store runs is all that's required in my world. Not all people who ride these bikes are going to circumnavigate the Arctic.....and so far, I've been far happier with CSC's service than any Japanese dealer I've ever dealt with.

I saw an RX4 yesterday without any luggage but with the big alloy bar thing on the back like the very early RX3, there’s an RX3S version sold like it with the RX3 headlamp but used the RX4 front end
Lots of options to take with or without luggage be a good thing and won’t waste money on something you might not want and then upgrade to Tourfella etc

Just to continue the discussion...NZ, it's common knowledge that was one of the main selling points of the RX3 when it first arrived was that it was (at the time) the only small displacement ADV bike out there, for super cheap, that had all this luggage...included!....which now lives in my shed. It may not be the roomiest luggage, but it was standard equipment and it is very durable.

Now with the RX4, CSC (Zong) has moved into an entirely new market that has plenty of competition. It only makes sense that they offer it without luggage (at a cheaper price) and give the prospective customer more options for dress.

As previously stated, the Mrs. and I don't do long bike trips anymore. Just day rides around our area. A 100 mile day is a long one now.

I love my 300cc kit and it's really helped the bike, but if I could drop a 450 in this, it would be ideal.

I have 4 side cases also lol

I didn't even know the RX4 was confirmed! This is a pleasant surprise to find out. I always wanted an RX3, but never had the cash(college student).
Then when I started saving up, people were talking about a bigger version, so I held off. But CSC said that would most likely never happen. Then there was that leak of that 450cc version in some desert race.

I may have to start saving all over again. Do we know the specs?

I would favor a CSC over a himalayan or equivalent, just to avoid the dealer "experience".

Doh! How about the measurements and weight of RX4.

Where can I find the measurements of the RX4, i.e. length, width, height, weight, etc?
