noob to scooters and china riders

hi all, I am looking at getting a chinese scoot for various reasons, and with a limited budget have settled on a Longbo (adventure I believe) 150cc form a dealer in houston.
the add says I can get out the door for about $1000, maybe less.
anyone here have one of these? are they any good? I don't expect it to last 20 years or anything, but don't want to drop a grand on something that'lll break tomorrow either
any opinions appreciated, as I get conflicting info on the net

Welcome. Most Chinese scooters are going to require some attention to be operated daily. Prep work is key.

A honda or yamaha is usually just add gas and go. A Chinese scooter will require you to be able to fix little things. Make sure bolts are tight etc.

I deffinitely have those abilities, I've done valve adjustments on GSs, carbs on any number of bikes, various other things.
However when I sat on one of the scooters, I didn't like it, and the dealer didn't want to start it, which no way do I drop cash on a vehicle, no matter what type, without that, and they insisted on cash, which I, going to a dealer, had not thought to bring (would if buying off an individual) so I decided it wasn't meant to be
I'd probably be OK with a chinese moto, from a diff dealer, but not a scooter from this one
any way, Think I'll save up for something I'll actualy like, this scoot wasn't that
Thank for your replies, Katoranger, if I do get a cinabike, think I'll stick to established brands like Lifan

The Dealer certainly sounds sketchy. Mine allowed a test drive, something none of the Japanese dealers would allow.

Won't start the bike and only accepts cash? Sounds fly by night to me.

I wouldn't deal there either.

Lifan, Roketa, or the better Zongshen and Qlink bikes.

Welcome to these forums, Art. We are glad you joined us.

I agree with the others. I wouldn't buy anything from that particular dealer.
