Woot it runs off choke, but...

2006 roketa with vm26, 25 pilot110 main, 4th notch on needle. Sea level.
I finaly got it to idle off choke. But when i put the foam uni on it, it would not fire. If i gave the filter a shot of either, then it would fire. But wth?
Anyway, i rode it to the mail box and back without the filter, about 1000 feet. Feels good. No stutter, but the filter thing puzzles me. Uni’s are about the same as no filter they breathe so good
Ideas?

Sounds almost like it is a bit too rich once the filter is put on it. Have you tried to install the filter when the bike is running and already up to temp? Does it stall it out or the idle gets out of shape?

I'll try that .Thanks. I tried a 22.5 pilot, but it took near 3 turns out on the mix screw. So the 25 went in, and the mix screw is a little over 1 and 1/8 out.

Was the engine hot when you were tuning the idle mixture on the 22.5?

As a fellow sea-level dweller, I can tell you that a 25 won't work for me. Depending on the weather, it's 27.5 or 30.
