Update on things... truck, still sealing. Had a COP go bad tho, and changed it. Was an original motorcraft. Luckily I have a bunch of good ones. Have driven to coast and back several times with no coolant leaking out or disappearing. Haven’t towed the trailer any significant distance yet tho. Wife’s bday is the 11th so that’s the weekend I’ll probably bring stuff home.

Also, the generator ran and powered my garage lights! Was over charging slightly so didn’t flip breaker to house. I adjusted the voltage by bringing the rpms down but now have to actually adjust voltage regulator to get to 60hz. So, hopefully this weekend will have the system in place and ready.

Tried to trade some guns for a motorcycle (like I need another one) but so far, no go. But, meanwhile, a friend wants my Marlin model 60 for 100$ and that will pay for me fixing a 10/22 that I got for 10$ - receiver and barrel only - from another friend. Kinda fun messing with them too.

And, Porsche Boxster - got the piece of styrofoam that fits in the back of the spare and holds the jack and handle for 40$. And then sold the Sprint Booster I had removed for 40$. So kind of a break even on that. Car is running well and I still love it. Meanwhile, my cousin in Nevada is trying to buy one. His teenage son has a 944 that they got for 1000$ and now he wants a Boxster. Pretty cool!

A 944 for $1000 would be fun. I grin just thinking about stuffing an LS into it.

Oooh that would be fun! I might do a FI 302 tho, just to keep costs down.

Truck is doing well. The coolant head and etc sealer I used was Iron Tite brand, and seems to have a good reputation of doing its job. My generator is good and I adjusted the HZ and voltage, but has an exhaust leak, so I need to figure that out... Boxster is fine, weather is fine, and wife’s birthday is this weekend so taking a trip to the coast. Probably tow the 5th wheel back on Monday. Shot 10/22’s on Saturday, wife and I. And, rode my motorcycles around the block just because. Haven’t done any riding tho... need to rectify that. But, this weekend will possibly do some bicycle riding at Whiskey Run near Bandon.

Got some great mountain bike riding in at Whiskey Run trails. Truck towed the camper home with nothing blowing up. Always a positive... and, birthday weekend was a success!

At some point Weldngrind asked for a thread about my latest truck, the 2002 F350 Crew Cab Dually.

Anyway, I sold the F150 February to a guy who knows about the weird issues it was having, and enjoys working on them.

Then, I bought “Big D”, the 2002 F350 7.3 diesel dually.

It’s been good to me so far. Has 245,000 miles. Had a trashed interior and many small things wrong with it. I think I may have gotten them mostly sorted. Anyway, I’ll keep this Ford Truck thread alive, and tell ya all about Big D as things progress.

The latest is, lots of oil leaks. 4 days ago I pulled the turbo off and replaced the o rings on the turbo pedestal. That stopped about 80% of them. Now, I have one more leak at the HPOP in the front. I’ve ordered the kit to remove the fuel filter reservoir and then re seal the HPOP. Those parts should be here next week.

Pulled the HPOP off, and the fuel filter bowl (to get to it) did a complete reseal. Drove it about 40 feet, revved it up, high pressure line popped off and sprayed oil everywhere. I coasted backwards into my driveway, put a oil pan under it and went inside. Was so frustrated. But, today, going to clean the oil mess and make sure the line is actually snapped in (I must not have gotten it clipped in all the way). Well, 2 steps forward, one backwards. Ugh! Sometimes I wonder! Hope all are well and staying corona free, or at least recovering!

Update: so, the kit Had the wrong fittings. They are slightly different. All the other parts are correct. I put the original fittings back on the HPOP and, no leaks and no hoses blowing off. Still have to clean up residual oil.

almost all the leaks are cured. Might still have a slight fuel drip off the back of the filter bowl from a sensor. Heading to Alaska to move my mom to Oregon, so will tackle it in a few days after I get back.

Cleaned front of engine with pressure wash. Evidently it has aftermarket alternator, water pump and air conditioning pump, and HPOP. So, that’s a good sign for a truck with 254,000 miles

Got mom moved! And, yesterday tackled the last fuel drip. The drain valve o rings on the fuel filter housing. At this point not one leak of oil or fuel! Success!

Truck is starting slow even tho starter is spinning it like crazy. The HPOP is staying full, so I’m suspecting a sensor. Have 2 different ones ordered. Hoping one cures it. One is failing as the plug is full of oil. Or at least it’s leaking lol.

Sensor helped. I also think I need to change the oil, duh... didn’t realize I had 5000 miles on it. Doing that soon!
