I needed to fold the front seat too. The opening from the trunk is pretty small. I wish it was a wagon like my escort.

Farm fresh eggs are the best! How many chickens are you planning on getting Kato?

I am planning to order 10 chicks soon. Looking at what is called production red. Cross between Rhode Island Red and New England Red. They are suppose to lay about an egg a day.

Also looking at getting some guineas. They are natural pest removers. Eat ticks and other bugs. We have alot of ticks.

Today I bought a couple 10 foot 2x4s to cut in half for rafters. I didn't get to work on the coop. Cats went to vet for shots this morning and then we had to do some shopping.

We have a home inspection coming up as a foster family. I have a few things to do before then too.

Sounds like a good cross. I can't remember precisely, but I think we just had leghorns for layers and then we used to raise broilers for eating. Guinea hens are fun to watch as they dart around . Your daughters will get a kick out of the birds, and nothing is cuter than a baby chick!

I told them that they had to be the mommas and raise the chicks. I am setting up a brooder in the laundry room so that we can keep an eye on them. The weather should be warm enough in March to move them into the coop.

You're a wise father, Allen.

Made some more coop progress. I am hoping to wrap it up next weekend.

Got more of the siding done. It will go all the way to the horizontal 2x4. The rest will get hardware cloth for ventilation.

The nesting boxes now have a floor. It is hinged for cleanout.

The ramp/door for the chickens. I hinged it also to seal the chickens inside if needed.

In the closed position.

The new cats.
Mr. Fluffy, Calli, and Orange Blossum. Of course Buford too.

Most of the recent pictures by 8 year old.

Here is the full album link.

Awesome herd of cats.

Looks like a nice sunny warm Kansas day too.

We had chickens for years. I could taste the difference in the eggs too.

Kato, maybe you can use some donated food scraps from local resturants or cafeterias to offset your feed costs?

You've made nice progress on the chicken coop, Allen! I bet the girls enjoy the new felines.

Somebody loves the new kitties! I'm guessing this is Mr. Fluffy in the photograph.

My wife is working at the school. We have a good supply or leftover food waste. I get alot of vegetables for some reason.

Her co-worker has horses so they take most of it right now.

It was about 50 yesterday. Nice weather for playing outside.

That is Mr. Fluffy. I hadn't checked when we got them, but it was originally Fluffy. They got shots on Saturday morning and I suggested we rename him to Mr. Fluffy.

These cats are spoiled.
