my first rc was nothing short of a nightmare....LOL MRC buggy with all PLASTIC bushings... i rebuilt that trans so many times.... then finally got rid of it for my HPI rs4 rally that i converted to an rs4 pro all carbon carpet racer...that was a good car... still have it in fact... i have robbed some parts off it for the nitro rs4 though... then i got the evader, and a losi mini-t...still have them as well... mini-t runs, and i stole the shocks of the evader for the nitro evader i just got....LOL

Been there on race day. Ran the car earlier and had her tuned perfect. Half hour before race time I go to start it and the one way clutch on the E start went out. I called one of my buddies that was already on his way to the hobby shop to get parts for his buggy. I caught him at the check out counter. He picked up the one way bearing for me. Just like in a real race I was hurrying up to get it back together for my race. I literally got it back together a couple of minutes before the race just in time to win that round. Final race was neck and neck with my Jato for the win.
Man I missed those days.

Had the b2 diff an balls, but they would still end up shattering if it went off road. Just wasn't made to handle that kind of power. I still have 4 stock'ish evaders that i wanted to run on track, then the track closed.

The slash 4x4 was a much stronger platform for doing stupid stuff, handles 4s+ with no issue and the 4wd allows you to actually get some power to the ground.

When i first got the slash 4x4 i jumped it over a buddy's garage. Of course he only recorded the warmup attempt and missed me clearing it. Another buddy with a brushless revo put it though his window trying the same jump lol.

well.... speaking of shattered gears OLR.... LOL played with the nitro evader at work on break, and hit a stack of pallets at realtively low speed.... like sliding stop maybe 5mph hit... no problem right?......wrong.... i never had all the motor mount bolts installed, and it shifted the motor just enough to hear that dreaded scccccrrrreeeeEEEEEACCCCHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhh of the spur gettin the knockput punch and a mouth full of missing teeth from the SH .18 and pinion...

oh well... i just ordered a pair of Kimbrough 60t spurs....LOL and now i need to dig thru the parts box for a few extra motor mount screws...

yeah after a while they would go out... i actually have a BSR 222 belt drive trans in mine right now, has an 8mm belt, and a gear diff... never did figure out a trans brace so the back end was floppy... hence why i robbed parts off it for the nitro... LOL

If anybody is looking into getting into this hobby on a budget Check out NirtoRCX. I've never bought any of their products personally but had a few guys in our club that have bought both nitro and electric cars and boats. They're just as reliable as the name brand if not more reliable. https://www.nitrorcx.com/
The owner of the campground we use to go too had a full blown course setup and a pond for the boats. We had races every weekend weather permitting. Once the owner sold the campground and new owners took over the course went down hill. It didn't take long for us to pull our camper out.

i was actually looking at the blower this afternoon... not sure i can make it work due to the way the coil is mounted and the amount of space it takes up due to the coil mounting... its like 9" wide the way they mounted it, and it needs to fit between 5" rails...i may be able to come up with something, but as for now i think its going to be on the back burner...

ihave done the electric route with cars for years... i dont run them enough to justify the batteries... i have 3 3s 5000 packs that have been meticulously maintained, and only have about 40 cycles on them, but 3 of them have bad cells... i also dont have the funds for a 200+amp high voltage esc to run this thing... i will figure out something gas for it, or put the fs110 back in it and run it... it needs to get gel coated this winter though, thats the last thing it needs, i never got to it before i ran it... LOL

maybe.... LOL i have a smaller boat to build first, scale model of a Criscraft 19ft racing runabout that the wife got for me for christmas last year...i may still figure something out with it anyways...

i have toyed with the idea of making a chainsaw engine work....i have a few of those laying around between 35-60cc... i would have to do a gear drive though to get the prop rotation correct... nothing i couldnt overcome...LOL
