First a llama, now a helicopter?

A helicopter pilot returning from a power line repair job near a dam on the Snake River spotted us riding in the desert and stopped to say hi. He is an expert pilot and gave us quite the impromptu airshow before landing. I rode over and introduced myself as a fellow pilot and we visited for a while. His name is Mike, he is 33, and lives in Olympia, WA.

[
A video of Mike flying over us before heading back to the airport. Pretty cool, worth your time to watch. I hope it works properly.

Those choppers are very expensive to maintain and fly.

This one had 21,000 hours on it!!!

I would guess it costs on the order of $750 to operate, not including the cost of the pilot.

I have seen them repairing lines in Southern Minnesota with helicopters.

Nice boots, I just got a pair. Makes standing in a puddle of sewage much nicer.

On the one hand, owing to the lack of class and refinement and panache, my boots are an embarrassment. On the other hand, they are warm, dry, inexpensive, comfortable and safe. They allow me good range of motion and protection. I like them.

I have some Alpinstars Tech 9 (I think?) that cost big bucks new (mine were used, and a gift) that I don't wear very much. They are like having your lower leg encased in a steel vault.

www.muckboots.com Spring and summer is the time of water leaks, failed sewer lift stations and general muddiness.

Wow. I had no idea they cost that much. Roger owns an industrial supply company and gave them to me as a gift. My previous pair of Muck boots wore out over many years of frequent use.

That video was pretty cool. Do helicopter pilots also like Nutrigrain bars?

Indeed I had a Nutrigrain bars on me but did not think to offer him one. I suspect he would have liked it. Nutrigrain bars are good for doctors, llamas, and helicopter pilots, and Chinariders in general.
