I can say that with all the bureaucratic BS that we have to put up with here in CA, the one and only bright side of the paperwork nightmare is that dealers, whether we buy used or new, have to do all the DMV work for us. Between the hassle and waiting in line at DMV, the nominal fee we pay is more than worth it.

Final word in from CSC on the CT registration issue - there is nothing they can do. Any CT resident who purchases a bike from them has to get it inspected at the Wethersfield or Hamden DMV in order for it to be registered. Ghaniba got his bike inspected yesterday and was supposed to get it registered today - we'll see if he is successful. Still does not fix my issue as I have no way to get the bike across the State to either DMV location. So, now I have a bike that will most likely sit for quite some time before it can be registered. This has me disgusted enough to put it up for sale and not even bother. I have cancelled my formal review of the bike with my editor.

Or do the rules change at all if it's a bike registered in another state and then brought in-state for registration? (i.e. Register in New York or PA with a friend's address? And then bring it in to CT?) Sorry... just stretching for ideas as I hate for this experience to sour your overarching experience with the RX3. Unfortunately every state has rules/regulations that are as onerous as they are diverse. |

Thank you RT. My issue is this - I have very limited time (full time job) and lead a D/S riding group on the weekends, in addition to not having easy access to a trailer. This bike was to be a test for a future fleet of bikes for my budding NE moto touring business. I can't go through this once, much less six more times to get a fleet registered so there really is no reason to keep the bike.
I will be in touch with Steve at CSC to discuss sending the bike back for a refund. Best to all CSC owners - may you enjoy many happy miles on your bikes.

Sorry to hear about the battery failure. I believe they did have some issues with the early bikes batteries.....what did you replace it with?

Joe posted that Rider mag just did a ride report on the 2016 RX3. In it they mention that it has grease zerks on the swing arm ?????. Hadn't read anything about that before. Also had a pic of the OCS half full of fluid. rj

Thanks Ron B for confirming that and posting a great pic.
Question for mods. There are a lot of very informative pics on this forum and I find it hard to remember when and where I saw them but occasionally would like to see them again because they are relevant to what ever I'm doing to my bike at the time. Like the one above of Ron B's. Could a sticky be made of just all the pics in one spot of pics only that have to do with maintenance , mods, broken things and fixed things? Maybe have sub groups for just bike pics, just accessories, just broken things, different tires, seats, luggage set ups, etc Or would it be to redundant? thanks ,rj
