“Fake news”

Hey guys, I was talking to one of the more trusted vendors on this site and when I asked him about the Vader’s fuel lines self destructing he said that was not the case and that most of this forums tips are “fake news” what do you guys think of that statement?

Ask him for his mailing address and i'll send him my old ones that degraded due to ethanol., I got my 2018 Gen2 Vader from Venom Motorsports.

I guess the engine mounting bolts shearing is "fake news" too according to the Dealers, but yet you can literally go back 2 entire years on this Board and see about 300 different threads about it ., from back then right up to now.

It's entirely possible I got a bad batch of line ,the Chinese are notorious for using whatever they can get cheap and so the quality can vary wildly on any number of items they use, from the grease to the rubber lines to the shock/fork oil and engine oil depending on who they got it from that day , week, or month.

So, i always recommend that they be changed ,it's less than 5$ and can avoid all kinds of potential nightmares ,and you can even find it on EBay in trick transparent colors that match your bikes color scheme .,and silicone based fuel line is good for damn near any fuel no matter how corrosive.,right up to alcohol and nitro and it wont dry rot and/or crack .

If you run ethanol free fuel the stock line will be okay but aren't the best. Replace them with silicone fuel line and avoid all the headaches later like clogged jets and so on. Ethanol will brake down the so called cheap rubber hoses.

Ethanol will corrode/eat away at rubber. If I remember correctly, the Icebear Fuerza had a sticker on it that recommends/states to use no ethanol fuel.

On that same note... My fuel lines were fine with me filling up at Marathons/Shells. I didn't have any issues.

Best bet is honestly just replace the line with silicone. You can find it on eBay for around $5 to $10 bucks and comes in all different colors.

While you're at it, you can add inline valves around the fuel filter. That way if you ever need to swap the filter you can do it without having to pinch the lines up and stuff.

Good example of what ethanol will do to cheap rubber hoses.

Yep to JerrtyHawk250's photo, that's exactly what mine looked like. That cracking and flaking works wonders when it gets in the fuel filter , or worse past it into tiny carb jet orifices, bowls, etc.

Thereis headaches you have to deal with, and headaches you can avoid. Change the fuel lines, and avoid a headache.

China fuel line is junk and the first thing to be changed along with the oil. As the pic shows, I've had line look perfect on the outside but blow its guts into my jetting.
