Happy Thanksgiving

Enjoy yourselves today and don't over eat(Yeah, right).

Avoid arguing with your crazy Aunt or Uncle. Mine have all passed, so I will have some peace today. I'm the crazy uncle now, but know when and where to pick my fights. Today, though, I'm just Grandpa.

Laugh a lot at the table. Even if the story is a bit off color. Those bring back the best memories.

Take a long walk after dinner.

Imbibe slightly.

Again, enjoy.

It's my turn to cook for the family this year, so it's Brined and Smoked Turkey, Smoked Apple Pie, Smoked Cookies, and Smoked Pumpkin Spice Roll... basically all the families favorite foods put in the Traeger Smoker

Was bright eyed and bushy tailed at 4am to start smoking the 20lb turkey

all the other stuff was smoked yesterday (have to eat just before Cowboys Football Kickoff in my family)... and half the cookies are gone already... I had to hide the Pie and Pumpkin Roll or there would be nothing for dessert

Our turn to cook too! Turkey, ham and all the sides. It will be nice for a change not to have to spend a ton of the day in the car heading to Sac and back to Volcano...that's for sure. It's nice everyone decided to come up our way this year.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my U.S. friends here. We had Canadian Thanksgiving in October, and we spent it camping in WA State.

We did the turkey in the trailer oven, and it's one of the best I've had in a long time.

The oldest grandkid is still the same when it comes to the 'meat handle'.

At age 3.

5 years later.

After spending the week with four petri dishes, er, grandkids, I've come down with a mother of a sinus infection.
