WOW, that red arrow really went all in with the scooter bug. That 125 is probably like new by now!

A member from the UK answered TheGammaGhost--I copied and pasted his original question to RedArrow's thread, and the question was answered. Looks like a new carb is in order,

Your original carb is an 18 mm ,The 19 mm would be just fine .Shoving a carb on it that's way too big will not help ,especially if you are not doing other engine mods to suit .

well okay i made some progress with my carb. i can confirm the float does and is working. ive got it tuned so it runs terribly can probably hit 5 mph max, very bogged down sounding, but it does not kill after 200 feet anymore.

i have the idle screw out 3 1/2 turns, and the mix screw out 1/8 of a turn.

im going to mess with it some more to see if i can get it running half way decent with out killing after riding.

Did you see the link to a carb someone posted on the Aero 125 page? You had a couple answers there.

Success! I cleaned where the float valve goes with a q tip with some baking soda and water on it, the valve wasnt seating properly. re-assembled everything, put a UNI air filter on it ( original air filter was barely working at all) and boom runs perfect now. went to the gas station about a mile a way with out issue. hit about 45mph with it. very happy, thank you guys so much for all the help.

Yes im super relieved to have it running decent again. it still almost dies after acceleration so hopefully i can adjust that out.

i actually bought this bike from a co worker for $100, it barely ran at the time. he found it on the side of the road, with a free sign on it.

i just changed the tire. here is what the old one looked like. literally on the brink of failing.

It was popular in Taiwan. Sanyang (SYM) had 3 models (領導125 http://blog.xuite.net/tsai.kevin36/scooter/211829125, 風速125αhttp://blog.xuite.net/tsai.kevin36/scooter/30448153 , 迪飛http://blog.xuite.net/tsai.kevin36/scooter/21432229 ) using that engine... Some compatible parts still can find from there...
