Honda Rebel 500

I’m looking at a new Honda Rebel 500 does anyone have any experience or info on the bike? Good or bad. Thanks for the help.

A gal friend of ours went from an older 250 Rebel to a new 500. She loves it. No problems at all. She rides the piss out of it. Handles our twisties just fine. She did an aftermarket Delkovic pipe. Sounds nice. Not too loud. I can't imagine it would be very good for tall folks. it's about Sportster sized.

Likely over 6ft. My 6ft 4 body feels a little cramped in the legs department

Go sit on one and you'll be the judge. It's a really nice bike. It's low to the ground. Sportster like.

I went yesterday to see and sit on a Rebel and it was way better than I was expecting. They had a 2021 special edition with abs and it looks great. I slept on it and went back in today and bought it. I’m having a power socket put on so should be ready for pick up on Saturday. Unfortunately they are calling for snow in my neck of the woods on Saturday.

A little side note. The dealership I went to had a new 1982 Honda CX500T sitting as a display bit said it was for sale. It was the original one the dealership had and never sold. The guy told me he knew of one other new one out there. I can’t imagine trying to ride that thing. Once the turbo kicks in you’d have to shift immediately. Unless they had some real tall gears.

Congrats on the new bike. I think you will like it. That 500 twin has been around a while so they have it pretty ironed out. Makes enough power to do the job and is also pretty decent in the fuel economy department too.

If you're tall, get the scrambler kit for the new Rebel.

Charles.

Just picked the bike up today. I put 5 really really cold miles on it. 41 was the high today. Man what a difference between the Rebel and the TBR7.

Okay sorry for no pics but I don’t know how to get the file small enough. So the weather here hasn’t cooperated much but I have gotten 50 miles on it. And I have ordered red dragon forward controls. It moves everything forward about 5 and a half inches. And that should move the pegs past the clutch heat guard and put my knees at a 90 degree angle. The clutch heat guard on the right side doesn’t bother me the first 10 miles but after that it starts to be in the way. Or I’m in it’s way depends on who you ask.

You must be getting the same weather I am! Every time it's supposed to be nice it keeps raining or getting cold and windy again. I have only been able to really ride two times in the last 5 weeks. Kind of annoying lol

Save pic to desktop.
Right click over the pic icon. Choose "Open with", then slide over to "paint.
Once Paint opens, click on the "resize" icon in the tool bar.
Once that little window opens, click on "Pixel".
Type "640" in the horizontal box. The vertical pixel box should automatically fill with 480 or something close.
Click save. Close.
Your pic is now small enough to post.
