No issues with the light bulbs on my 2022 DF250RTG, knock on wood. Never had a light bulb problem on my previous DF except when I replaced the turn signals. I seem to have less problems when I don't monkey with my bikes.

Things on my list:

1.) New turn signals and mirrors come today, hopefully these will be a vast improvement over stock.
2.) When is the first oil change recommended? I typically use Shell Rotella T4 15W-40 as I seem to remember most of these engines do not like synthetic, right?
3.) Ordered a pack of NGK D8EA plugs, should be here on Thursday.
4.) Install the 35T rear sprocket, just need to pick up some snap ring pliers and figure out wheel removal. Boy do I miss having a center stand...
5.) Install Nibbi Racing carb once the missing coupler arrives from Venom, I'm thinking about keeping the airbox though.
6.) I just emailed IMS about their Flightline shift levers as I'd like to ditch the stock heel/toe one. I know I could just cut off the heel portion, but I had an IMS lever on my old TW and really liked it.

2. In the owner's manual the first change of the oil is at 1000 km but I changed it at 50 km. I used conventional 15W40 for the first oil change.

I use Rotella Synthetic 15w40 in all my Chinese motorcycles and scooters with no issues. They probably don't need it but I use it in all my diesel tractors so I have it available.

I too miss the center stand that all my other bikes have.

Like the black turn signals. Where did you buy them?

38T off and 35T on, which was way easier than I thought it would be. Only PITA was the snap ring, and that was only because the tool I have wouldn't open wide enough. I'd definitely say 35T appears to be the smallest you can go without having to shorten the chain.

Haven't had a chance to see the difference it makes, but I'm sure I'll do that later today.

Thanks. I received them today and installed them then took a ride out to Sanibel Island to check up on our now lot as our cottage was destroyed by hurricane Ian. The fence that I put up to keep the idiots from driving on the lot spinning circles and causing big ruts is doing just fine.

The new black turn signals don't show up in the photo which is a good thing. They work just fine and have a faster flash rate I guess since they are led light bulbs? The bike is running just great and seems to have more power than my previous DF250RTG.

They should just be incandescent bulbs, but I did notice the faster flashing too. What’s strange is I had one burn out pretty quickly so I threw one of the bulbs from the original signals and the rate returned to a normal level. I will say the I’ll probably end up getting some better bulbs since I’ve already had two of the ones that came with the black housings burn out.

Also, I needed to tighten/loctite the nuts that attach the housings to the threaded pieces because the small nut inside the housing kept coming undone after some riding.

I had that problem with the nut inside the housing. I tightened it down and then went to check the other one on the back on the bike and it was missing the bracket that holds the bulb. The bulb was just loose in the housing so I am sending them back for a refund.
Putting the stock turn signals back on the bike.

I wonder if black plastic spray paint would stick to the housing?

Trying some different turn signals just on the back as they are easier to install.
So far so good. They are very small.

Parts

Hey y’all.

New to the forum, howdy!

I purchased this bike a month or two ago and it was stolen about a week into having it… quite amazingly it was recovered. The ignition was ripped clean out amongst some other minor cosmetic damages.

I’ve been in touch with my seller but apparently a replacement ignition it two months out from even being in stock… I thought I got a good alternative through Amazon but it’s seemingly not compatible. I tested my CDI & battery and all is well on those fronts.

Anyone have any idea on where to get an ignition that is compatible so I can get my baby back on the road?

Thanks in advance!
Jess

Photo of my DF250RTG ignition switch below. I looked at the above but did not find one.
Jess , do you have the switch, if so could you post a photo of it removed from your DF250RTG?
That might make it easier to find one on the site Jerry put above.

Put these small turn signals on her and so far so good. Need to adjust the alignment a bit.
