Specs at http://www.df-motor.com/product_show.asp?id=750 show the gas tank capacity at 14 liters or about 3.7 gallons. I never checked that on my two DF250RTG. Has anybody here verified that. Also I never checked the MPG.

I screwed this oil temp gauge in the dip stick hole on my DF250RTG to check the oil temp.
This test was an answer to another thread.

My temp gauge is like this one.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F3W136Z...ing=UTF8&psc=1

At rest the cold engine was about 22 C or 72 F. After a 12 mile ride in traffic up to 50 MPH the reading is about 78 C or 172 F.

I can leave the thermometer in the engine with no oil leak so will leave it in and do some more checking as I ride. Don't recommend looking at it as your ride but ok at a stop.

From what I read the engine oil might start to break down at 275 F.

Took a ride to check on our lot on Sanibel Island with speeds over 55 MPH on the speedometer which is probably about 50 or so. Still breaking her in. The oil temp got up to 90c (194f) which is still very safe. Seems an oil cooler on the DF250RTG would be a waste of money.

She is running just great and is a fun bike to ride.

Did a test pull of my light weight trailer and she did just fine. I like to use the trailer in the mountains of Western North Carolina where we spend the summer. When I make a store run I can carry a lot of items.
The trailer hitch bolts to shock mount.

Just got this private message

"Just bought a DF250RTG (white). Any advice you can provide me would be greatly appreciated. Also did you sell your original RT”G” and later get a 2022 RT”D” version? I was confused by the description where you lost your bikes."

Thought I would respond here so others could add their opinions.

I sold my original DF250RTG to a member here because I like to keep trying other bikes.
I have owned over fifty motorcycles in the past 65 years. Not saying that is smart!

There was nothing wrong with it except a small dent in the gas tank. Recently I bought a new 2022 one and it was exactly like the one I sold except a few mods I put on the previous one.

For some reason it was called a DF250RTD on the paper work but it was also called a DF250RTG in other places. Again it is exactly like my previous DF250RTG.

As far as any advice I can give it is to read this thread from the beginning and almost all your questions would be answered.

I would leave it unmodified for a while. I changed the seat to have a little more room for a passenger. Changed the mirrors to bar end ones so I could see behind me. You might not have to do that. The carburetor is unmodified. I added a pad to keep my heel off the muffler.
Did not remove the catalytic converter as it runs just fine with it. It has about 800 km on it with no issues.

I added some crash bars just because I had them from another bike. Changed the oil after 100 km.

We are headed up to our cabin in the mountains of WNC where the motorcycle riding is wonderful. Taking the DF and my Ural with us. I have an Ice Bear 150 scooter there. I do a lot more motorcycling there than I do in flat SWFL where we live in the winter.

Ask any more questions here and I and others will chime in with their opinions.

Vince thanks for the detailed response. I just reviewed most post on this thread and really appreciate all the info that has been shared. The people in this forum seem to be very helpful and a cool community, which I think is going to be so important when owning this bike.

My bike is scheduled to arrive, 80% assembled, this upcoming week. Hopefully this DF250RTG is one of the ones that arrives without any issue. I’ve worked on assembling an e-bike but have never put any part of a motorcycle together, but looking forward to the experience and the rewards of riding this cool bike. Thanks again and look forward to posting pictures, getting feedback, and advice!

Dadbike26,
Welcome to the asylum. I didn't have any issues assembling any of the ten or more Chinese crate bikes I have bought over the years. I really do like getting bikes in crates delivered to my house.

Can any one supply the diameter of the front forks for the DF250RTG ? Looking into clip on handlebars for a cafe racer style.

Also can please provide the diameter of the front headlight and depth of the light to the installation bolts? I’m also liking the idea of a screen on the light. Thank you for your help. I’m bored waiting on the bike figure might as well order the mods now.

Sidecar loaded up for the trip to the mountains. Dong Fang is in the back of my truck.

Thanks, that looks sweet.

For my cafe racer look I meant that I want to install a mesh grill so I really need the size of the headlight? Looks about 5 inches in pictures but not sure.
