I just got the item shipped email from eBuy7 for my RE3 rear rack; after logging in I was able to access the tracking number and found out that they sent it via FedEx:

So for those of you so inclined, they appear to be a source of some pretty cool RE3/SG400 accessories that cannot be found on any other sites right now.

I'll warn you ahead of time though, their shipping is on the very high side, especially since they appear to be using FedEx for stuff going to the US. I paid $150.54 in shipping for a rear rack that cost $58.06; the upside to that is it's FedEx, so it should be here in a couple of days. I'l update when the rack gets here.

On the flipside I paid $23 for Fedex for a $49 gas tank rack, and my order just went from pending to confirmed, with no ask for additional money so far

That's great if you don't have to cough up more money; I saw that rack and it is pretty small, I wouldn't be surprised if they are able to cram it into a flat rate envelope or box. The rear rack that I ordered appears to be a welded assembly, with no way to break it down further unfortunately. It will be a business day or two before they will request additional shipping, if any is required, so sit tight. And like I said over on ADVRider, they need 2-4 business days to acquire what you ordered and get it ready for shipping, so it may be towards the end of next week before you get a shipping confirmation email and a tracking number, so don't freak out.

I'm not complaining though; $209 is about what I would expect CSC to retail a SG400 rear rack for if they designed and fabbed one themselves, and it's in the ballpark of what I see some of the TOURATECH and SW-MOTECH stuff going for, so I'm satisfied.

Yeah... they want $161 to ship that little rack to me.

If they'll combine shipping that may be the only reasonable way to buy stuff from here.

BUT, looking into it, if it really is airmail, it's actually about right. It costs between $113 and $155 to ship 6.2kg from the US to China via airmail.

Not unexpected, though still disappointing.

I just checked the tracking on my rack and it's currently still in transit on the ground in Dongguan, which is about 35 miles east of where it originated in Huizhou. Both localities are clustered around Guangzhou, a "little" town of 13.5 million people, which is situated just north of Hong Kong. There are no less than three international airports close by from which FedEx can fly out of, so if it is air mail, I should know by tomorrow, when I see the latest tracking information. I would expect to see it pop up in an airport on the west coast somewhere, probably LAX, before heading further inland. I don't know if it will move across the US by air or ground; either way it should still get here to me in Ohio pretty quick since I don't believe that FedEx is having quite as many problems retaining drivers as LTL truck carriers are. Still, it is Christmas, which is why I normally don't mail order much this time of the year, in order to avoid the holiday crush shipping delays.

This isn't ebuy7, it's good old-fashioned DIY.

Just a yellow piece of acrylic a heat gun and a drill press. It's the same shape as stock, but it only curves on one axis. Meaning it may be more effective than the stock shape. I'll know after I test ride today.

I also installed a NEP throttle lock and modified my throttle tube to be 1/5 turn instead of 1/4 turn.

I have one more piece of yellow acrylic, and I think I'm going to make a larger version of the stock shield, (same basic shape, just taller) and come up with a different mounting system so I can put it at a more useful angle.

FYI, even unladen I’m only getting 44 mpg with my normal spirited riding. If I tone it down and stay in 6th as much as possible I can eek out 50mpg, but that’s no fun. What are other people getting?

Thank you for so much detail on the issues you have had on this bike. I have had my eye on this bike for a little while now, but I have been wanting to see some information like this on it. The kick stand bracket is quite a negative in my eyes. It's one thing to have a small difference in side to side clearance, but that's a big difference.

The rear suspension is also disappointing, if not surprising. Kind of a shame given the very limited rear travel as well.

That economy isn't all that impressive either given the engine size. Hopefully it's an issue causing a rich fueling issue.

I will say, 380mm YSS shocks for a 90's/00's CB500 make this bike handle SO much better. I can hit speed humps at 35mph and not feel much of anything. No bottoming, and also no being launched out of my seat. No wallowing in high speed sweepers, and the bike just really handles so much better. Less than $300 made a huge, huge difference.

Got my tank and fender from CSC a couple weeks ago, and finally put it on. If you're ordering the tank from CSC, make sure to also order the three pieces of adhesive-backed heat insulation and the rubber pad that goes on top of the rear tank mount, as they do not come with the new tank.

I also got the yellow flyscreen, and I painted the front part of the side covers silver instead of black. My intention is to make it pretty close to the promo pictures from the Chinese release bikes.

The bike is geared for 75mph at 6000 rpm, which yields a top speed of 112.5mph at 9000 rpm. The bike cannot reach that speed. Moving to a 13T front sprocket would give a 7.1% increase in torque, and also reduce the top speed by 7.1%, to 104.5mph. With the increased torque, the bike might actually be able to make it to 100mph. Keeping the stock 14T front sprocket and moving to a 44T rear sprocket would reduce top speed by 9.1%, to 102.3mph. With a 9.1% increase in torque I'm sure the SG400 could reach 100mph.

The problem is getting the sprockets. Front sprocket is a 520 with a flange that makes it 11mm wide total. There are 14 splines, with an outer spline diameter of 25mm and an internal spline diameter of 22mm. I've not found any matching sprockets so far, but I have asked JT Sprockets if they have anything with those dimensions.
