New Brozz 250 stutters above 3000 rpm

Just go my black beauty together and took her out for a few runs. This morning the bike came to a stop at a stop sign. I got her started by noticing the idle screw was loose.

I adjusted the valves per the great video by Motocheez

Now it stutters above 3000 rpm. Looking for some hlp her...she is only 2 days old

congrats on the new Brozz....! many have made the honest mistake,..so worth mentioning,..is you're choke fully off (operated in the correct direction) while riding?

Did you used the correct valve specs??? or the incorrect ones?

Doh!

Mine acted like that when I forgot that I had half choked it to start on a colder morning.. fine then bogging after about 4000 rpm... Choke off is all the way down on the selector.

Oh yes and as wilddog said make sure you are positive when adjusting those valves.. lots of mixed up information out there written or said about in vs mm... Numbers are crossed a lot

Thanks for the info. I used the video by motocheez to adjust the valves. .005 exhaust and 004 intake. The choke is off and the bike still stutters. Any other ideas?

Just to be clear... You should be at .05 mm which would equate to .002 in
Might want to think about it that you used the correct feeler. Like I said, a lot of misinformation out there with the way the valve numbers have been recorded on the forum and in YouTube videos.

If you set the valves to .005ex .004in you should be fine there. I would look for anything that you might have bumped loose or forgot to put fully back in place from the valve adjust. Like spark plug connection, single push on wire to coil etc. You say the bike is only 2 days old meaning a 2020 I presume. I washed my bike with soap and water once and got some water into the tank through the cap, the 2020 has a cap redesign and shouldn't do that but you never know.

He is a bit off

But like you say, he should check the spark plug cap, i once had a motorcycle that did stutter at high rpm and it was because the little wire that helds the plug tight on the cap was broken.

Valve specs for almost all of the OHV CG engines are .05mm - .10mm for metric, .002in-.004in standard. Anything within those min and max ranges is perfectly fine. It is a good idea during break in to run a wider lash spec.

IF you run on the wider end of the spectrum, .08-.10mm/.003-.004in the valve clatter will Be a little louder, but you are also guaranteed to have no run issues, and you will be able to go a couple to a few thousand miles before your valve lash will need checked.

If you want to keep the noise down a little, then the best spec to run on these engines is .06mm/.0025in. It gives the best balance of noise and service intervals. I personally don't recommend running the minimum spec of .05mm/.002in unless you are obsessive about valve lash checks every 1k miles.
