When??

Been doing that dance between different powersports dealers where what I looking at becomes sold out.
I am wondering are their shipments from China only once a year or, is this some crazy supply-demand scenero. I really have a hard time understanding this wide spread depletion of inventories without replacement coming thru the supply chain..
Anyone please help shine some light to this.

It is a crazy supply-demand scenario thanks to stimulus checks. Last year, China shut down everything for a few months thanks to their virus. Then, came the stimulus checks. which wiped out the supply of bikes already here. Eventually, production resumed and bikes became available. However, even without Chinese factories shutting down (strange how they never got a 2nd, 3rd, or more wave), once stimulus checks started getting sent out, more and more bikes were getting bought up.

You also have to realize many factories manufacture in batches. It's not like, say GM, who have multiple factories all over, and can simultaneously produce different model cars. Motorcycles are made in batches. Even the big companies, like Zongshen, from what I understand, don't have assembly lines for all their models to be produced simultaneously. They probably do have the ability to make multiple models, but not all their bikes at once.

I think it’s more like the small dealers don’t have enough operating capitol to stock anything.
They “pre sale” and when they get enough sold they order a container of bikes.

All of the dealers seem shady if you ask me. I don’t expect any service after the sale.
