My new ride

Just put together my new Hawk. Went together fairly easily. The only issue was when I started it up the little dust protector on the clutch cable melted. The exhaust smoked like crazy until the stuff burned off. I took it around the yard... It was awesome!! I haven't ridden in 20 years, this was a blast. I can't believe how much bike you get for $1,300.

Hawk Value Added

Congratulations on your new Hawk! I know what you mean about value, allot of return on your money. I'm not saying it is perfect, but every used enduro out there in this price range needs a minimum of $500 to get every thing back to "as delivered" Enjoy your fledgling but remember she is not a screaming eagle keep the revs below 8000.

Best,
Lefty

X2!....but I got 11 years on ya. Just wait!
That's what kills me about the comments I sometimes get about riding CB's. Why I didn't spend the giant dough and get the top-of-the-line Kawasaki or KTM or whatever. I don't ride like that anymore! Why would I want to blow that kind of cash? Just so I could say I bought an expensive bike?
Just like the horrible reception the Japanese bikes got in the 60's....it won't take long for this secret to get out about CB's.

Right on 2LZ. Those bikes are fantastic. If I was going to do a supercross circuit I'd spring for one of those bikes. They are truly amazing machines. So is a 911 Turbo or a 458 Ferrari but my Corvette and Mustang give me enough to get in trouble with. In fact my brother in law who is a very talented Porsche Club driver regularly runs the same time in his 928 (he paid 6K for) as not so talented folks in shiny new 911 Turbos (150K+). Not too many people can wring out everything from a 911 turbo and the same goes for a new KTM.

The old adage still rings true: I'd rather ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow.

That was me and my Husky, back in the day. I could never ride that bike to its full potential, especially after I ported and polished it. I'd blast out of a berm, spank through three gears and spend 60% of the straight away slowing down enough so I wouldn't overshoot the next berm. It was a horse that really let me know that my peak abilities has been reached. Very humbling. :-(

Man...that black Hawk looks really sweet. I keep second guessing my choice of TT250 color!

Hey Motocheez, I'm going to try to CT register my bike soon, i will let you know how it goes. Oh yeah I should probably get my motorcycle endorsement too. I will just get a permit which will give me 60 days of riding before the class.
