9/11 Memorial

My city installed a 9/11 Memorial and dedicated it yesterday. It's an artifact from Ground Zero, a steel beam burned and twisted in the wreckage. The assembled crowd released 3,000 balloons in unisyn to commerate the 3,000 lives that were lost in the attack. Prophetically, some became attached to the memorial itself.

There was not a dry eye amongst the thousands of citizens assembled.

In the lower picture in the bottom right of the green area you can see the beginning of the gathering.

It's easy to see how dry our desert is too. Any area not waterered is brown.

Worth the 2 minutes to watch. I love the New Yoker in the background who yells, "Go get 'em George".

Hard to believe it's been 10 years. Seems like just a short time ago.
