Brand new Tao Tao 125d atv turns over but wonthe start

I am hoping someone here might have an idea of what I am doing wrong. I put the machine together last night. Tonight I put some non ethanol fuel in it, turn the gas petcock to on, put the choke on, switched the kill swith to run, put in nuetral, hand brake on, foot on the brake, hit start button and...... it didn't start. I tried for about 10 minutes and gave up thinking it may have to do with the remote, or something else simple I'm missing. If anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it.

Try hitting the unlock button on the remote with the ignition off. Then switch the ignition on and try again. My little boys Tao is weird like that. If I kill it with the remote, I have to press the unlock button then cycle the ignition key. As soon as he gets a little more time under his belt that whole system is coming off.

I just tried this and unfortunately it did not work. Thank you though for the idea as it was worth a shot for sure.

Pull the plug to see if it has a spark. If it does it could be a clogged jet on the carb. Seem to be happening a lot lately on here. I know when I first tried to start my daughters UTV I cranked it till I had killed the battery. After it set for about an hour to charge the battery it cranked up and spit and sputtered for a while till what ever they pack in the carb for shipping had dissolved.

Oh and make sure the kill tether's rubber plug is securely plugged onto the switch.

mine has a red cord kill switch on the handle bar, but I keep reading about one on the rear of the machine as well. when I get back I am going to spend some time on it, and I will check to see if I have both and that they are plugoes in. Thank you

well, I am feeling pretty dumb right now, but happy about it! Turns out, one of the wire's coming from the sparkplug was not plugged in on the other end! could not see that last night in the dark. plugged it in, and it fired right up!
