That filter looks like the perfect choice.

Ebay Can STFU quest.

So, in an attempt to try and tone down my exhaust just a bit, I decided to try something simple, put in a sparl arrestor with a slightly smaller diameter exit.

I used a Pro Circuit PC4000-0002 1 1/2" spark arrestor for this purpose and simply sandwiched it behind the fiber gasket and the body of the carb and bolted my tip and cover back in place. Link: https://www.amazon.com/Pro-Circuit-S.../dp/B019HAAN5U

It shouldn't hurt performance too much up top, but I will give it a run here once I get the rest of my bike back together and the traffic dies down.

I did give it a test start, and while it isn't really any quieter or louder, the "thumps" from the tail pipe are quite a bit more pronounced. I can live with that if it is just a bit less loud while riding around. If not it is coming right back out lol. This is a similar approach my my Coffman's silencer, Two Brothers, and some other muffler manufacturers use to help tone down their exhausts without hurting performance too much. It's effective on my VFR. It's still loud, but not ear piercing.

Hey Dan I'm relying on you to work this out, I went back to stock exhaust to quiet it down but miss the pull of the aftermarket pipe. JK, I will find a happy middle ground eventually...unless you do it first!

Nothing will beat the stock muffler for quietness. This did help quiet it down a decent amount, but it is still fairly loud. The pulses sharper retort kind of nullifies the reduced volume a bit, so no matter what it is still decently audible.

No real change as far as jetting is concerned.

One upgrade that did change my jetting was that new filter I put on. I even mounted the foam pod filter back on to double check I wasn't crazy.

New filter = 140 main jet.
Foam filter = 150 main jet.

So I guess it is safe to say that in terms of outright airflow, the foam filters win. As far as I can tell the new filter is still capable of the same speeds, up top, although it doesn't feel as responsive. It's only slight difference, but one I noticed.

It’s really nice to see how “Megladan “ has improved his situation in a relatively short while .When his first hawk was stolen ,he was broke ,pissed off ,and crying about it (there is even a video of it ),then not really that much later he has clearly improved financially as he seems to be adding and changing things on his Chinese racer daily .Good for him ,and his followers who are gaining great info on what can be done with one of these cheap toys ,and still keeping it budget friendly .i would have a hard time buying a new cylinder head and valves for one of my yz450f’s for less than Dans entire bike and mods .Way to go Megladan.

Megadan, no L after the G, unless I am a prehistoric shark. I am having a hard time deciding if you are being extremely sarcastic here or not. I doubt your new head and valves would cost as much as a Hawk though.

Over 2 years ago April 2018 to be precise, that's how long it has been since my first Hawk was stolen. A lot can happen in 2 years for sure. I would say "not really that much later" is a lot later than you would think. It took me a while to recover, even with the help. That was part of the reason it took me several months before I had the bike on the road.

I have since tried to help others since then in as many ways as I can to help pay it forward and pay people back. Setting up and donating to several GO Fund me's myself for members here, giving away parts for no gain to myself, sharing as much info as I can. I have never once been anything other than grateful to the people here who helped me in a very difficult period of my life that I have only recently been able to climb out of. I was absent for many months until a little while ago because if it. Still am digging myself out a little.

Holy cow that is expensive! Is there a lot of tax added on to those parts?

My truck had broken and was not safe for road use because the steering box had ripped off the frame, and took part of the frame with it. My Honda had a front brake failure and the parts were more than I could afford because my hours had been cut at work. All of that literally happened within a 3 week period, and then my Hawk got stolen. Yeah, it wasn't a fun time for me.

I wouldn't have left the forum I don't think, at least not permanently, but it would have been a while before I got on another Hawk.

Not really taxes ,it’s just how we get screwed with literally just about everything .I buy a lot of 450f’s that people buy for a trail bike not knowing the required maintenance ,and often at 8 or 9 hours up to about 40 hours ,they drop a valve or something nasty like that ,then they can’t afford the rebuild ,so I get them $7-800.00 and park them in my container and wait for parts to show up on EBay cheap before fixing them up .Before the internet it was really tough .

I have no problem helping, but do me a favor and trim down the quote of my first post to the information you are curious about. It helps cut down on massive re-posting of my pictures and mods over and over again.

Difference between PZ30 and PE30 carb is simple. The PZ30 carb has a physical venturi in the carb throat that reduces airflow. The PE30 is a smooth bore carburetor. That means it has a higher total airflow and better velocity through the entire intake, which in turn makes for better throttle response and total airflow.

Your second question is too vague for me to answer. Explain what? Where to buy the parts? What parts to get? WHich parts do you want suggestions on?
