I do have several 110 v wire feed welders but wouldn't claim to be a welder. My welds look more like a seagull dodooed on it to stick it together therefore "a grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain't" applies. I'm looking on Ebay for proper bracket or a similar one that I can scoog together to get it to work, Rj

Cutting the original bracket to work w new motor.
Waiting for spokes and additional bracket to proceed with swap.
New motor is same bolt pattern almost as old one except lowest bolt hole is farther apart and the clutch side motor bolt lugs are wider then old motor from center of engine cases. So splitting frame bracket will allow spacers to make up difference on clutch side. Then I need to add metal to get down to the bottom motor mounting bolt. Also cut out a significant portion to clear where the "baby bump" balancer shaft sticks out in front of motor.
Then the problem of no spark at S'Plug. How to diagnose that to get wiring straightened out? Everything else works electric wise just no fire in the hole. rj

It's Alive! we figured out the wiring and got it to run now.
We basically saw that the original motor and the new motor had the same color wires but in different places in the plug in. So we took out all the wires from the new motor plug in and repositioned them like the old motor. What is confusing is that the matching plug that is on the bikes wiring harness doesn't match either engine as far as color to color ?????

I took the clutch cover off the old motor to put it on new motor so we would have the tachometer drive that the new one doesn't have and found this piece loose on the shaft???? Nut was totally unscrewed. oil slinger thingy??? Could this of contributed to original motor failure at 375 miles? rj

Swaped the old motor oil pump with tach drive and old clutch cover installed on new motor and have a working tach now. Was more complicated then I thought . Had to press off gear from new motor pump and put it on the old oil pump shaft . New oil pump gear is smaller then on old one and wouldn't fit with driver gear on crank.
What is purpose of sligger thingy? Never seen one before.

That "Slinger thingy" is a centrifugal oil filter. That is what removes the finer metal particulates from the oil as the engine runs instead of a paper filter screen.

I was reading wolftrax Hawk build from last year where the slinger came loose as he started his trip to South America. Apparently you can run w/o the slinger as long as the nut is still good to hold gear on crank? What happens to oil route when slinger is left out. It looks like oil goes into slinger spins oil around to separate particles then oil goes thru spring loaded poppet valve to continue circulating thru motor. With slinger gone does oil just fall back into crankcase? Look 3/4 of the way down page to see pic and what happened to him.
What kind of glue do you use on air filter foam that is coming apart on glue seem?

Haven't repaired a Foam Filter in a long time but years ago I used a product called E6000 the few times I needed to repair the filter to get me by until I got a new one ordered

Regarding the stator wiring, I know the pain that is colour change at a connector. It is so challenging to trace a wiring problem when the damn wire changes colour.

I'm amazed that the centrifugal oil filter came loose. Do you have the tool that is needed to remove and install the nut? Also, note that the three cover screws are not Philips, but JIS.
