Metal valve stem or rubber?

I had my wife pick up a tube for the back of my Roketta (4.10 18) and it did not have the metal valve stem. It has a pure rubber one and it does not fit in the hole provided.

What are your thoughts? Should I bore the hole out or get a different tube?

I think I would get a different tube. The threaded stem makes keeps it in place. I have never seen one for a motorcycle without.

Just hate to have a failure on the road do to saving $3 on a tube.

Return the tube.
Buy a top of the line replacement.
Beat the wife.

You know the last point was a joke, right? :P

here's my tip...might solve other (this is 'good enough for the damned bike' problems in the future

1. search net for bloody gory motorcycle accident pictures.
2. show to wife explaining "this is what happens when cheap rubber necked tube blows while riding"
3. enjoy top quality equipment the rest of your riding career without any bitching from wife

CAVEAT!! This assumes wife wants to keep you around!!! If having domestic difficulties, DISREGARD ALL OF FOREGOING!!!!

I'm starting to have concerns, my wife has suggested that I go on the trick riding circuit! When I get out on Huber I might give it a try!
