Green Hawk down and imploding mirrors

Yesterday Jay took mean green for a spin because it reached 60° out. About an hour later I get a call saying he's stranded with a flat front tire at the bottom of Marietta hill. So I donned my Cape and boots and jumped in my sister's big Dodge, Frank to the rescue!

Well in my haste I forgot to grab some straps out of the Yota. No worries, we set a coat on the passenger side bed rail and just leaned the bike over the side. Then I made a quick run to the bank to deposit some cash.

We crossed the old bridge in Mcconnelsville which is very narrow and I had to pass another big Dodge. Jay looks over at me all wild eyed and loudly proclaims "My mirror is hitting the side of the bridge!" Now what actually happened we will never know, but I think it was a case of spontaneous mirror combustion caused by solar flares.

Either way it looks like we'll be upgrading the mirrors. If big Dan could chime in I'd like a link to his mirrors, if Jay approves of that style ofcourse.

Hush you! We all know it's a given that Black Hawks are faster than the rest, and I fear putting ANY black Hawk parts on Mean Green will give Jay a performance advantage. Being that my mirrors are probably a few grams lighter and more aerodynamic ofcourse.

Wow! Exactly the mirrors I needed last weekend! Had to cross it because there was a desert race around us and we don't want to join!

On a different note..

Today is my Hawk's first birthday. If I had it to do all over again being that I spent 4 months in a wheelchair would I? Probably not, but it was a good 3 months of riding.

My buddy Chris is trying to deal me out of it and I'm strongly considering it. Granted I've got $2,400 in my Hawk and I would say you'd be hard pressed to find one that runs and rides so well but..

He's got an immaculate '12 Honda 500 4x4 with push button shift and diff lock, power assist steering, 2k lb winch and a LED light bar, AND brand new tires. As far as utility quads go it doesn't get much better than that and I'm familiar with working on this particular model so..

Not to be rude but.. Tako my dislike for you knows no bounds, so why do you feel it necessary to comment on my posts? I bought a carb/sprocket kit from you even after you cussed me out, and still recommended your kit to others.

Then when I needed a wheel sensor you absolutely refused to sell me one because I didn't buy the cluster from you, it was one Jerry had given me. And your last comments about the stock carb "if you don't know how to work on one, huh", me and Dan are the only ones that have ever properly tuned a stock carb.

What you know about bikes couldn't fill a thimble, go spam somewhere else or go back to selling used cars to little old ladies.

I do not have " wheel sensors" to sell as just 1 - if I did I would have them on Ebay.
Let me try to explain WHY CHINA and parts are a pain in the ASS often.
I had to buy 100 dashes with sub looms for Hawk gear ind wire and sensors.
So I have a lot as "sets" and only as set - no individual parts and buying 1 from the factory they often and YES turn you away hence I cannot just sell 1 piece from a set (and too much drama) Should I need to solve a customer problem then I will break it from a set. (I am free to sell or not sell items - free world)

HOW EVER - if you wanted say most of the black plastics for your bike, a USD front end over sized fuel tank or anything else I dragged to the USA THEY were spare and for sale/free to give away at a GREAT deal cause THEY had no usefulness to me BUT I rather pass them on to others who could put it to better use then say SCRAP steel.

These items were junk to me YET I spent effort to share/sell/help out at a small fee possible on them.

I am not anyone's slave and to be told what I should split or sell cause they feel like it.
You don't like my ways my offers etc - you and anyone is free to make that choice.

I hope you understand more as to WHY I didn't sell you and the other guy in Florida just a wheel sensor. I also rejected another guy to JUST sell the gear ind sub loom - too much drama from a set and then expected to sell at a very small fee.
That's my opinion and if people like or do not like how and what I offer for sale or free at times so be it............ I hate SOCIALISM! Yet I live in a socialist country for reasons I will not go in to.

I have a few other small items I may offer or not that I do not want and useless to me, some will be just a pain to deal with and needing to offer service etc hence I don't bother causes it causes everone issues if I can't do it right and shipping is an A$$ from China mostly (not like USA and anyone can ship anything no ID needed)

Thanks for reading

Ok Tako, you could have told me that you didn't want to separate a set 2 months ago instead of ignoring my request. The guy in Texas didn't have any problem separating a wheel sensor for me though, he even had to make a listing for it so I could purchase one. But it all worked out for the best though because his sensor was made specifically for my cluster.

One beauty of my cluster is each parameter can be set to suit many situations so you’re never stuck, options open to more and at a fair price as well as the deal I had I threw in a free usb phone holder, glad you got it sorted and now you know more

Tubes on the way

Well Jay got his heavy duty Kenda tubes on the way along with IRC rim strips. And for Xmas he's buying me a set of brush guards that are nicer than the crap ones I bought the first time.

And I'm proud to say he's joining the very exclusive 520 O-ring club, which means he will be able to sit in on Dan and I's private meetings and have access to special tuning info we don't share with the common folk. #MembershipMatters

We've found my 13/33 ratio is perfect for his 140lbs so he's ordering a 13 and a 35 and swapping it for my 33. So in the end I'll have a 13/35 which is just a hair taller than my original 12/33. We'll have to swap chains as well because mine will be too short to run the 35. But my chain is in excellent condition and hasn't stretched any since the initial break in adjustment.

Gonna order Dan's mirrors as well if Jay makes it to the bank in time tomorrow.

Edit: Scratch that, were just gonna order a 32 which is 3 dollars cheaper than the 35 and I'll go back to my 12 tooth and Jay can have my 13. So we'll save about $20, I can keep my chain, and we'll both have the ratio we want.

I can see you and Jay on the floor with your shoes off counting toes trying to calculate those gear ratios. But like a true chinarider you figure out the cheapest way to do it.

It's a difficult process because I only got 5 toes.. but it it helps that Jay has 6 toes on each foot so.. we got 17 chances of getting it right!
