Doh! Apollo Rx250 Electric problem !

Hello everyone !

I'm new here and i want to ask you something about my Apollo Rx250 db-36c 2020. What type of CDI it use DC or AC? I burned up 5 CDI's. Ok first time i had a stator and voltage regulator problem, i changed them, i checked all wiring system but last time when i connected a new CDI guess what? I burned it.
Help please i think i'm starting to go crazy.

Thank you

Easy way to check what cdi you have is test the connector with a multi meter. DC is powered from the battery when not running. AC gets power from the Stator while running.

Stators on 70s, 80s Suzuki GS series were AC, three wire. But they went through the rectifier where there is a diode to convert to DC. I thought this might be how these bikes are set up if they have a stator. Oh, and rectifier/regulator was one unit as I recall.

So your post #3 above Jerry (DC setup on the right) applies for this type of system, powering the CDI with 12v. ??

That's for a DC CDI. See how you only have the one wire on the two wire connector? AC will have two wires, one is for kill switch.

I had order two DC CDI's from a vendor that ended up sending me AC CDI's. Burnt them both. The vendor finally got it right on the third one.
