hawk fork seals.

I swaped out the nasty fork oil on my hawk for new 15w fork oil.

I never rode a mile on the cooker oil or whatever was in there,, black with chunks...

That said, after a few admitedly hard rides on some rough trails its weaping fork oil out of the left side onto my brake.

it had bottomed a few times onto the fender, but I didnt expect it would blow the seal.

I ordered a set of alls balls seals that I believe will fit, ill post the results and anything I learn in the process.

my brothers first impression of the hawk was, those forks will never hold up to your abuse, guess he was right.

ive never blown a seal from this company so hope they will hold up, better than the originals.

How much of that 15w fork oil did you put in there?

My fork oil was black and chunky too but it smelled like Fish... I must have gotten the "Chum Fork Oil" and not the "Eggroll Fork Oil"

i captured the old stuff into a wat bottle and filled up another water bottle to the same level, put that into the empty fork. so while I dont know the amount it was exactly the same as what they had in there,, both forks had the same amount.

Thanks for answering. Seems like a bad seal alright. So new seals sound like the solution.
