First weekend off from moving! Got to ride! (PICS added)
Every free moment lately has been consumed by my move. Linda, Roger, and I (and others) have been working very hard.
This weekend the closure of escrow was in a holding pattern so we couldn't move stuff in form the garage so we rested. Well rested in my fashion. 8) Saturday Linda and I hiked Badger Mountain together. It's a decent little hill in town. About 1,000 feet elevation change and four miles or so. Very nice. From the top THREE local volcanos were visible. Mts. Hood, Rainier, and Adams. :P After that Roger and I rode the dualsports 80 miles! Mostly off road, including some new trails by my new house. We also found some great desert hill stuff about 25 miles to the west of town. Today after church Lina, Ron and I rode the big bikes. Ron on his Ultra, Linda and I on the Gold Wing. We rode to Chinook Pass in the Cascade Mountains and ate at a semi-famous hangout called Whistilin' Jack's. We put nearly 300 miles on The Wing today and loved it. Linda showed off the new riding jacket I bought her yeaterday. No pics yet, no good internet connection. I'll do it from work tomorrow when I get a chance. God is good. :P

I was at my old house checking a few last minute things.
With the hot weather we've had lately the yard is totally overgrown. About a pickup truck full of weeds need to be pulled, the trees need to be trimmed, the lawn is way too high and uneven, there are a zillion dandilions, about 50 tumbleweeds, and hundreds of pounds of leaves and sticks that need to be hauled off or piled up and burned. This is just the beginning. I'd say the new owner has about 15 hours of catch up work to do, and this is just the beginning of the 9 month yardwork season. I won't miss the 3 manicured acres I used to live on, although I will miss the privacy. I really HATED the yardwork. I got no joy out of it. It all seemed like a waste of time to me. It always grows back after you mow, there's always more weeds, more pruning, etc. Every week during the growing season I had to spend up to 10 hours, no kidding, taking care of that %$#@ing yard. I won't miss that on my piddly 1/2 acre of simple grass and plants I have now!

Not the best pics but better than nothing.
Bill and Ron on the Nachez River. It was flowing! Silty torrents of glacial snowmelt from Mt. Rainier. Bill and Linda. Everything about this girl is beautiful. She loves to ride and she loves her new riding jacket. Linda with a Ferrari 360 Modena. Funny story. As we are leaving this car pulls up with a Seattle yuppie and his hot blonde girlfriend. A quick thought of jealousy went through me and I was reminded (Holy Spirit I'm sure) that I'm on a Gold Wing with a hot blonde girlfriend too! Linda is so loving and loyal she resisted having her picture taken with the Ferrari saying 'I don't care to, it's not YOUR car!' Then we see the yuppie and his blonde take a pic in front of my Gold Wing so it seemed like the right thing to do. I am richly blessed. Even if I was homeless in a ditch I'd be blessed with my Salvation. Then on top of that God gives me the blonde and all these other things! Seek ye first the kingtom of God and all this and more shall be given to you... The only pic we have from the desert D/S ride with Roger.
